I'm a big Thurman fan but he's in rough here. Spence looks like a nightmare style match-up. Thurman can look fantastic early here, but he has consistently slowed, retreated, and gave away rounds late in fights. If he slows and retreats too much against Spence, he'll get whooped. I don't think it's something he can just stop doing though and he'll lose this fight.

I hope I'm wrong. Thurman gets so much undeserved disrespect on this site.

Thurman is better than Brook in my opinion so this is an even match in terms of all round abilities.

I think it will be down to which guy can implement their style more effectively. Can Thurman get enough respect to create the space to score from the outside. Or will Spence box his way in and takeover down the stretch like he did with Brook. Again I think a lot will depend on how Spence deals with the power of Thurman and how many rounds Thurman can bank before he starts to slow down.

I feel like Brook is slightly better than Thurman just based on how they performed against Porter. I don't see Thurman winning against Spence. Stylistically speaking I would prefer to see Spence against Porter, Garcia or Bradley.

I have a ton of respect for Thurman. And I think he should be on the top 10 p4p list.

I would be rooting for him too just like you.

And just like you I had to be real in my assessment.

But hey, who knows Thurman is a smart guy. Maybe he would be able to develop a plan to offset Spence's strengths.
