I favored GGG originally but after the Brook fight I started losing my confidence in him. I expressed my concerns prior to the Jacobs fight and they came true.

I'm actually leaning towards Canelo now.

I still favor him. It was too clear, to me at least, in the Brook fight he just didn't give a ****. He was doing things in there that he never does. And to him not looking how he normally does; he seemed off at the weigh in and looked a bit lethargic fight night. As for Jacobs, I think he did fine. I've watched the fight back and Jacobs didn't have as much success as was led to believe, which were my initial impressions when it was live. It's hard to say how much better Canelo become these past couple years because his competition has been very lacking in terms of preparation for GGG, I guess with the exception of Cotto, but still too much size disparity in that one. The thing with Canelo is we tend to remember the flashes he has during rounds because they're eye catching but he cannot fight in spurts like that against Golovkin and tend to take what seems like half the round off not really doing much. I know he likes to fight off the ropes but there were times against Smith that were cause for concern, it's just that Smith wasn't a big enough puncher or didn't match Canelo for size. And Canelo is going to win the jab battle either. Golovkin's too fundamentally sound with hiding his chin behind his jab shoulder while blocking counter right hands for Canelo to bank on that being a punch he can continually throw and land. Canelo obviously has the speed advantage and throws great combos but the thing with his punches is that they are all thrown at pretty much the same speed and intensity. So while they look impressive, they aren't as effective because the opponent just has to brace for them. Golovkin, like Barry Robinson says, is a great prober. You don't know which shot is going to be his hard shot, or harder I should say since they all land hard. He disguises very well. I wasn't anticipating on typing this much but yeah I still favor Golovkin. His tank is still very good at 35. Canelo threw the most against Chavez than he has anyone else, as far as 12 rounders are concerned and he said he still got tired. Actually no joke, I remembered I had a dream last night that Golovkin stopped Canelo with a liver shot. I can't ****ing wait for this fight though. It should very much deliver on its promises.
