  • Comments Thread For: Spence: I Was Sluggish, Wasn't Sharp; Give Myself a B-Minus

Errol Spence Jr. was the first to admit that he wasn't exactly spectacular Saturday night. Spence said he felt sluggish early in his IBF welterweight championship victory over Kell Brook in Sheffield, England, Brook's hometown. The undefeated former Olympian responded to his slow start by picking up the pace before making Brook take a knee in the 10th round and the 11th round, when Brook decided he couldn't continue due to blurry vision in his left eye.

        My eyes are A-Okay

Spence even admitted he wasn't happy with his performance. He mentioned the time off. I've seen Brook look better too, am I lying?
        No

I mean the fight had it's moments for sure. It wasn't all sluggish and sloppy. But I've seen better from both.

        Joshua-Klitschko this was not.

And I stand by me enjoying the Thurman-Garcia fight more. At least that fight wasn't sloppy and sluggish as Brook-Spence.

Response I did from a different Thread.

I was told I need my eyes fixed but meanwhile Spence said the same exact thing I said.

Ha! I guess you The Fresh Brawler is the one who not only need your eyes checked, but you actually need new eyes. Because the eyes you have right now don't function at all.

Boxing rebounded just fine after that Canelo Chavez farce. Thanks to AJ, G.Davis, and Spence. Because that was horrible display of a fight put on by Golden Boy. Luckily those 3 guys I just mentioned put on action packed fights.

You could definitely tell in the first couple of rounds. He was consistently overreaching with his jab. oHe's going to have a stay busy fight and then face Thurman at the end of the year or early next year. He'll be sharp and ready for him by then.

Errol woul definitely need to bring his A game for PAC or Thurman, because he'll definitely bring out the best in Thurman and the beast in PAC.

Weirdo? You're the weirdo who don't make sense.

It was a more enjoyable fight to watch.

Both Spence and Brook were sluggish, sloppy. This fight had it's moments here and there. But I've seen both guys looking better. Whether it was the layoff that affected them or their styles not meshing well, it wasn't a very pretty fight. Like I said it did have it's moments here and there, but it wasn't anything close to the hype or what I was expecting to see.

The ending was anticlimatic with Brook quitting. I understand the eye situation and Brook had a Golovkin flashback, but it wasn't good for the fight.

Last I checked Thurman and Garcia didn't quit, weren't sluggish looking or too sloppy.

Not that Thurman-Garcia was much better. Because Thurman messed that fight up in the second half by back pedalling. But overall it was a better fight on my eyes to watch.

So yeah I'm saying a fight in which both guys who weren't nearly as sluggish or sloppy and didn't quit was a better fight for my eyes to watch.

Follow your saying and you get your eyes fixed.

Pac ain't going near any of the big boys at 147.

If those guys were in his sites.....he wouldn't be fighting Horn.
