I think we've got to let these young guys careers play out before we compare them to legends like Hearns.

Spence took some decent shots from Brook, but if he took them from Hearns..that's a whole different ball game.

Both big welters with great kabs. Tommy has size advantage but we saw what happened when he went to war with Hagler. I think Spence breaks him down and stops him in the later rounds.

Blasphemy. Go watch Hearns/Duran again. Duran was a body puncher just as vicious as Spence with the same power. Hearns was too rangy at that weight with too much reach - Spence would never find the body but get lit up all night long and we already know his defense upstairs isn't anything special.

Errol Spence Junior is not really that hard to hit, and this is a very bad attribute to have up against Thomas Hearn's! Can any welter weight right now carry their power up on up, through the weight division's as high as light heavyweight? No (There are no big punchers in the Welter-weight division!).

Looking at styles?...Oh ok same conclusion. Hearns too much for him. If I was Spence promoter, trainer or manager & Tommy Hearns was in the same wgt division, I'll just do what everyones been doing since the 90's & that is go for any of the other beltholders whose name isn't Tommy Hearns. Now a days it's very easy to avoid a fighter & go for the other trinkets & still become world champ without having to fight the best.

If Hearns landed the same shots Brook landed, it would be a short night for Spence.
Both are great fighters though and this is one of those we could only guess at. I wouldn't say one necessarily runs over the other.

it's really hard for me to give any of the current WWs more than a punchers chance against hearns. he was just such a freak. Erroll has great stamina and heart so maybe he can get in some good work in the later rounds, but i still think it's a long shot.
