I will need to watch the fight again but I don't think Spence was getting washed in the opening. I thought Brook was taking the rounds but Spence was actually blocking a lot of the punches, landing point scoring punches and working the body.

I could see someone having it even in the first half which would result in a wide score favouring Brook because the he got outclassed in the second half.

The fight was meh, I was expecting a better, more exciting fight. It was sloppy, sluggish at times. The fight did have it's moments.

The anticlimatic ending ******. I can't believe Brook quit. He was too worried about his eye. I guess we will know the extent of the injury later.

But all in all, I enjoyed the Thurman-Garcia fight better.

Now hopefully we will get Spence vs Thurman at the latest by early or mid year next year.

I said it in the RBR thread that Sky and Froch were going crazy with the home fighter bias. I gave Kell 3 rounds and didn't have him winning any rounds after round 6. They ignored pretty much all of Spence's work until it became very clear he was wearing Kell down.

Byrd is awful. I can't fault her tonight because my score was only 1 closer than hers but she's pretty damn predictable. If Spence was getting killed, I think she would have had the same scorecard.

Notice that it was hard as *** to score with that crowd screaming every time Brook threw his hands? Insane!! And, the commentary too. I'm like, "I know I'm not blind, there's no way Book's two good shots won that round." I've never watched a fight where the crowd was so rallied behind their guy and the commentary was obviously heavily influenced (I was watching Sky).

I just didn't like how the Defending Champ was too timid in the pocket and only relied on counterring and milking time, aside from a biased crowd. I don't recall Brook even using a jab...I gotta see the punch stats. Spence pressed more, Errol showed great ring work, especially in the second half. Spence was just blasting Brook's arm guard all night from high to low torso... Spence used his right jab. Caught Brook more appealing combos or follow through lunging sequence. Spence all night. The Sky Commentary was garbage.
