Cotto has earned the right to do whatever he wants. He fought literally every challenge of his era except for maybe Paul Williams.

He's doing what he always does after a loss, taking an easy fight for a vacant belt. Jennings, Foreman, Rodriguez.

Most likely his fight after that if he wins will be a tough matchup because that's what he's always done.

They begging him to take their belt and you needed to work with golden boy to vacate the 154 belt held by canelo so cotto could fight for it. So sign with golden boy so they vacate the belt work with WBO get this title and then cash out your next fight. Kamagai is a means to an end. No shot Cotto fights trout or Lara. He going to fight marquez, canelo, etc. Whoever brings the most money.
Is it wrong for me to consider a poster on NSB a "Casual" boxing fan for not knowing who Kamegai is ?

He never fights in that middle ground
I do not call Clottey a bum OR an elite fighter, for the record.

Cotto is all bent out of shape over something everyone is subject to: talk. Who cares if everyone (supposedly) wants you to retire? You do you.

As for this upcoming fight, Miguel has been inactive for over a year-and-a-half. That's a long time for anyone, especially someone at this stage in his career. You never know, Kamegai might alter Cotto's decision to continue fighting.

Check out Guerrero vs Kamegai highlights on youtube. That was a wild, entertaining fight. Fight of the year candidate.

Also check out Kamegai vs Soto Karass highlights.

Soto Karass was a guy who knocked out Andre Berto and Kamegai knocked out Soto Karass.

Not a bad opponent for Cotto after being out 21 months.

But yeah check out those highlights when you get a chance. One thing about Kamegai is that he always comes to fight/brawl. He's always been entertaining whenever I've seen him fight.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the Cotto-Kamegai fight for as long as it lasts.

Gotta laugh. Dudes acting like "fans of boxing" are really just here playing flag-politics. JFSD, you never got over that "Matty" loss I see. Got you raging against every PR fighter ever since.

Hahaha, had Cotto been a greencard candidate, half of you mongolians would be saying ***** like "Cotto is a warrior though...wars though...on his shield tho..Kinda shopworn tho..." and other classic corny azz cliche rationalizations for your countryman.

"Matty's eye tho but not Wilfredo Gomez eye tho..." Peasant-Bias 101

Your hate smells stronger than a weeping garbage bag of chimichanga grease in the hot Tiajuana sun.

                    Buncha Trump victims...

I never thought Cotto Would fight for this long. He's one of my favorite fighters of the past generation.

You forget this dude came up at the same time as guys like Ricky hatton and Vivian Harris.

I never really felt Cotto loved the sport enough to fight this long, but clearly he does.
