all you saw was what whitiker was doing and nothing of what chavez was doing.

as you said whitiker might have fought the fight of his life but he had too.....

That's because he was the only one doing anything. He made Chavez look amateurish and average...pretty much how everyone who faced him in his prime looked.

It's not like a I have a seething hate for Chavez here. Zoom Zoom Nelson was one of my favorites of all-time but i'll say the exact same thing about his bout with Whitaker (which was closer than the Chavez bout). Nelson couldn't do anything with Pernell, which was more a testament to Pernells greatness than was a knock against Nelson.

Whitaker landed much better shots all night and controlled the ring and pacing of the fight through and through. That's about all that needs to be said.

i belive chavez controlled the pace, while whitiker tried to counter and move as much as he could

da last time i woched it i had it 116 - 113 to whitaker!

it was a gud bout and not as 1 sided as sum ppl make out!

yes whitaker won it clearly but chaves made him work for it in each round and he did win his fair share of rounds in al!

he won all rounds up to the ninth clearly.. the last 4 rounds were more competitive. chavez was coming foward and getting hit with loads of punches throughout the fight.. pernell boxes circles around this guy.. u can see how fustrated chavez gets
