Groves is lucky the ref stopped that. He would have punched himself out and would have been a sitting duck.

That said, happy to see Groves looking better than he has in a while, even if that's not saying much.

Not sure Chudinov could have recovered. Been a fan of Groves for a long time, doesn't top beating DeGale in the first fight IMO but still a good win, and a strap.

That stoppage was perfectly fine. Chudinov was tough, but you can't sit there and absorb bombs. These guys are pros, they know that by heart. Chudinov wasn't even shelling up well.

He nodded understandingly at the ref after the stoppage. He was okay with it. There will always be those who hate a UK stoppage no matter what.
