This is an unnecessary, money-grabbing fight between two guys who have ran out of options and cannot beat most of the guys around their weight limits. So they fight each other and everybody loses. The fans and the sport. Sadly this has become the norm nowadays.

Still a better fight than Mayweather vs McGregor

Agreed it has no significance to any division, but it's a good matchup between two quality veterans and historically relevant boxers who both still showed a little bit in their last fights. Who knows how much Marquez has left now, would prefer to see him shine in a warm up fight first before getting excited for this, but it sure beats Delvin Rodriguez or Kamegai lol.

Would I prefer to see Cotto vs a young lion at 154? I guess but then again Trout already beat him and all the top guys at 154 right now are just as fast and mostly way more powerful than Trout. Styles make fights so Andrade-Cotto might be cool, just a hunch, but you want to see Lara-Cotto lol? I mean Lara did show vulnerability to the left hook, and Cotto has a great left hook, but then again Canelo couldn't beat Lara convincingly so what's Cotto gonna look like when Canelo beat Cotto pretty easily? Jermell Charlo vs Cotto could be good, but Charlo is a lot bigger.

I don't know. Those would be good fights but do they really mean anything either? All it means is it gets a big name on a young guy's resumé, hopefully a win, but since Cotto isn't a champ at 154 it doesn't mean they're the best either. So this fight means as much as those do, but it's more of a fantasy matchup and Marquez has way more warrior spirit than a lot of these younger, American guys, despite them being more athletic at this point. I'd rather see Marquez go to war one last time against Cotto than watch Lubin outpoint him 9-3 or some ****.

Let's face it, at this point in their careers, we're probably not going to get an A+ superfight matchup with either of these guys. So instead, why not watch two guys with about equal speed, good power, and good chins fight each other in hopefully a competitive action fight (if the weight is fair, so like... 148 lol. Not sure how well Marquez fairs anywhere near 150 or higher). This is an interesting fight to close the year.

I think after both their careers they deserve to cash out. Both are first ballot hall of famers. Both got scammed mayweather outweighed Marquez by 20 and canella outweighed cotto by 20 fight night both warriors ducked no one. Only Floyd can cash out? Mcgregor please !

                      **** off Cotto.
When will Cotto step up and fight a good fighter? You have to be joking. Take a look at his resume, who did he fight last?
