I'd like to see Russell mares in la. Mares isn't getting frampton or Shelby and if he doesn't get lsc then Russell is a very reasonable fight for both.

I think both would prefer lsc, but there's no telling if he takes either. On the right card I think both can be paid well

Sad, nobody at 126 wants it with Russell Jr. Other champs don't even dare to utter his name. Straight up punked Selby on live tv and Selby just got a pass

All these fights were there all the time. Where was Gary? He chose to fight once a year, now it's "I gotta move up"? Move up then. You can't accuse anybody of ducking with a record full of TBAs.

I get him being careful about getting paid, but he needs to fight more often than once a year (what he did in 2015 and 2016). He's a fun guy to watch and would make great fights with any of the top dogs at 126 and 130 (except Vasyl- he may have progressed too much).

LOL...Lyle said that the MGM was in suburban Baltimore...that must mean that the city has a metro area as large as New York or Los Angeles

On the topic of Gary Russell Jr. he had an emotional night there with his brothers winning on the same card along with him, but it just seemed like during the weekend he was not that excited to be fighting there. I know that the big opportunities haven't been there for him, but he has to approach each fight like he's ready to show out for the crowd.

Check out his post fight comments, it's like he doesn't have much interest in fighting much longer.

                      Well that's clear actually.
He has always been known as a businessman and not a fighter, he is talented af but cares about money and he doesn't like boxing.
He doesn't even knows most of the top 10 p4p boxers and i'm almost sure that he said that he didn't even saw his brother's fight in Rio.
Recently he did an Q&A in Reddit and i asked him (like many others) if he likes boxing and he said that he does it because he is good at it.
And i like him but with the way he talks and his lack of love for boxing combined with his long layoffs, i see why a lot of fans aren't really interested on him despite his great talent.
