Nothing. Floyd and McGregor because of the high purse guarantees they require would mean the event would lose millions. They would hurt their own fight more then it would hurt Golden Boy. Canelo/GGG is the better fight with the biggest mexican superstar on a mexican holiday. It would be totally foolish to try and force the fight on that same day. Even Dana White realizes this which is why he himself said they will move to another date. He it too good a business man to allow it and none of the investors will allow it. If this fight ever does happen Floyd will have no choice but to pick another day. Both fights will make a lot of money just not on the same day and really UFC fights never come out on Mexican dates anyway that's a boxing thing. This fight will be attracting non boxing fans and UFC fans so a Mexican date isn't required. Boxing fans will choose Canelo/GGG over Floyd/McGregor every day of the week.

That's like cutting off your nose to spite your face. No good businessman would do this. Dana White has no emotions involved and wouldn't allow it it because it''s just bad business. Floyd, UFC would all make probably 1/3 the amount they could if they did that. Mexicans, Boxing fans and most casual fans know Canelo/GGG is the better fight. Canelo/GGG does OVER 1m PPV buys no matter what Floyd does. That's 1m PPV buys out of Floyd's pocket. You would be limiting your audience. Either the investors shut it down or Floyd, UFC lose money.

Just my opinion. It would take a relapsing alcoholic to go head to head with a PPV that is going to sell 3-4M buys.

One fight is going to do at best 1.5 million ppv buys,

The other fight will do over 2 million ppv buys easily

That's all that matters, when deciding who gets what date
