Correct.
Davis isn't ready; his team know this, and probably he does too.
I'm not sure that Davis is ever going to be ready for Loma but that's a different issue.Comment

Oh my God you really are dumb aint you? Are you telling me the skill gap between Tank and Lomo will be still just as wide when Tank is 24/25? Are you implying that Lomo was just as good as he is now when he was 22 like Tank is now? Coz Lomo wasn't even this good a few fights ago when he was getting beat by Salido so please explain all this nonsense you spewing?Once again, where was this with his last two opponents, especially when one of them was a champion? That's because age doesn't really matter. It's just the skill gap, which is very wide between Tank and Loma. If age mattered that much, Floyd would have never had Tank fight for a title this early.
Development is a different story and that's the only REAL reason for why Floyd is in no rush for this fight. Tank needs to develop his skills some more before he fights Loma and that could be as early as next year (not saying it will but a fighter can develop a lot during that time). That's the only legit reason for this fight not happening yet, not the age.Comment

It's not hard to understand, dude.Loma fought a dirty Salido who had a weight advantage over him and still almost won the fight so that really doesn't take anything away from him. In fact, that still shows how great he is as a fighter. Plus, let's not forget that months later, he completely schooled Gary Russell Jr., who was undefeated at the time.Last edited by Mr. Punch-Out!!; 05-23-2017, 12:16 PM.Comment

Exactly! At this point, it's pretty clear Tank is not on Lomachenko's level and in fact, even Tank's opponents may not even be as good as Lomachenko's. There's nothing wrong with being a 22 year old in the sport but if Tank doesn't get any better than what he is now, then he'll never be ready for Lomachenko at ANY age.I agree with this assessment. We've seen plenty of older fighters beat younger fighters. Age has very little to do with this. This is all about skill.
Also, consider this. Let's say that Tank and Loma fight later this year. Tank is nowhere near ready for Loma. The fight would suck and would be uneventful. No one would remember it. Just another Loma opponent and a highlight reel for Loma.
Now consider letting Davis having 4 or 5 more fights to gain experience. Now he's a better boxer. Now the Loma - Davis fight is more competitive, more entertaining. It makes more sense to have Davis gain experience first so that the fight is competitive.
It's like throwing your fighter to the lions, and putting your fighter in a tough, challenging fight.Comment
