After the bell, it shouldn't be neccessary.

One second could be the difference between life and death. The opponent had obviously not been disciplined enough. Maybe the DQ lose will make him more careful in the future.

it is all on the ref. HES paid to listen for that bell. HES paid to have control over the fight.

in the heat of a moment (battle) do you think a guy who is THROWING PUNCHES is listening for a fncking 10 second bell ?!?!?

He should just stop when he hears the bell. Why do you give the ref all of the blame? The bell is there to signal the end of the round. The round ends. Not Dirrell's fault that his opponent forgot that he wasn't in a nonstop bar brawl.

wtf are the refs in there for ?!?!?!?

''aw fnck !!! i wasnt in there soon enough to end the round !!!! good thing is i can lay the blame on the guy who was only in the process of THROWING PUNCHES!!!!''

you have tunnel vision. youre concentrating on ''after the bell'' crap. once again, it was only one second. count to one and see just how fast that is.

experiment you can try (involves 3 people. wear head gear)~

one person asks another to throw a punch while someone else counts to one. see if the punch is stopped before it makes contact. heres the catch, person getting hit must have his/her eyes closed.

I am not one that thinks Dirrell was faking. He was fouled, and I believe it ruined his career. In the Uzcategui fight it showed the toll it took on him and it is likely in my opinion a knockout might have come anyways . But Uzcategui had punched after the bell earlier and failed to heed the warnings.

Back in 1984 Mike Weaver was the #1 heavyweight contender and a tough dangerous foe for any top heavyweight. Weaver took a tune up against Tony Anthony before his title shot. At the end of the second round Weaver returned to his corner and Anthony followed him and attacked him from behind knocking him out. Weaver was never the same. In his next fight he was knocked out again by Pinklon Thomas. I imagine if Tony Anthony had any fans they would say Weaver was faking. But sometimes a foul knockout can change your career, intentional or unintentional.

I would not call that a sucker punch! It was part of a three punch combination the last which happened to have landed after the bell.

A sucker punch is what Mayweather did to Victor Ortiz! and Dirrel's uncle did!

                    Don't be silly!
