I'm 5 rounds in and all I see is Murata walking forward but N'dam is the one outworking him. Nothing clean or effective but still throwing more.

Do you think Murata would have thrown so few punches in an "away" title fight? I believe he behaved like its in the bag because hes a gold medalist fighting in his hometown.
Did you notice the crowd/corner faces/reactions in the later rounds?? Those people looked like they thought the local hero was losing and needing a ko.

If he had gone for it with the heart of a scrappy challenger (not easy to do once you've got a million dollar signing bonus) -- especially once he had N'Dam hurt -- would he have been able to take him out? We'll never know.
That said, I still don't think N'Dam did enough to win.
I've noticed people always seem to forget how fast N'dam can be and how much heart the guy has. He may go down in literally every other fight but he seems quite difficult to put away.

And lets give N'dam some credit. he made Murata shell up
for a half minute at a time by treating him like a walking heavybag.

What I mean to say Is Murata was expecting home cooking but didn't get it.
Originally posted by Humean View PostN'Dam was not outlanding Murata by much at all.
It would have ended with N'dam asleep.
Murata also did his fair share of punching gloves and arms.
Originally posted by Humean View PostMurata was landing it was very clean powerful punches that had a clear effect on N'Dam.

Are you denying Murata stopped punching for at least 20 seconds at a time??
Does standing still covering up and taking punches like a heavy bag count as quality? lol

Murata vs. N'Dam
Originally posted by Connor MacLeod View PostWell to be fair N'dams constant punching is what made Murata shell up at times. And The difference in pro experience between the two is staggering.

No doubt about that -- N'Dam's never lost by KO, has he?
N'Dam moved brilliantly (though he's no Willie Pep), showed resilience and determination, and deployed fast combinations effectively. However, the most decisive, positive, active as opposed to passive, impression-making elements of the fight -- the knockdown, the constant pressure, the cleaner, harder blows -- were all in Murata's favor.
