This is a non-story. When they were first talking about this fight, Mayweather mentioned a July date. Dana White recently said that they lost the September date. Doesn't appear that anyone was trying to get the May date and not attempting to get the September date. When one of them start mentioning finding a location for one of those dates or we find out that another location is being reserved on the same date as Canelo vs GGG, then we have a story.Comment

They haven't even made the fight yet how they gonna try to steal the date in the first place lol?
But for sure if they DID make the fight & they DID wanna steal the date they could. 400,000ish hardcore boxing fans would buy GBP's card & probably 2.8M-5M+ casual boxing fans, sports fans & random mfers who got hooked would buy Floyd vs Conor. Both give up money by going off on the same date, but there is no doubt as to who's still making more revenue whatever date it pops off on, Sept., Oct., Nov., Dec., St Paddy's day or Cinco De Mayo don't matter.
More people are gonna throw down $100 on Floyd vs Conor then $70 on Canelo vs GGG. Like it or not. F#ck I think GGG is one of the funner guys to watch these days, but Conor in the boxing ring vs anyone sells more PPV's than GGG as the A side vs anyone. That's just the f#cking reality. Has nothing to do with boxing. Or competition (as the Canelo vs Chavez Jr fight doing 1m give or take should tell you). Its what do people wanna see. And people love to watch Conor more than GGG. And people love to watch Floyd more than Canelo. So it only makes sense Floyd vs Conor would crush Canelo vs GGG.Comment
