You can’t compare Canelo and Gennady from where they started it’s about where they’re at

What If Golovkin turned pro at 15 in a boxing crazy country and had the full support Of the countries biggest TV channels and sanctioning organizations from the time he was a teenager and picked as their golden child and been given every opportunity to succeed with a huge push from the biggest American Promo company every time he fought judges gave him the benefit and sanctioning organization bent over backwards for him and he was able to invent his own weight class for years so he pick and choose his opponents.

His resume would be similar if not better then Canelos because he has a exciting style that fans from Mexico and the States would get behind and bring dollars in which in turn brings the opponents in, no one would have avoided him

What if Canelo was born in a eastern bloc country with no support and no connections would he have even made the Olympic team? Would he even medal ? What if after the olympics no A class promotional company was interested in him and the company that signed him kept him away from their only
Decent name and kept him boxing purgatory wasting away his career , would he have quit ? . What if Canelo didn’t get a decent Promo company to get behind him until he was 30 and even then no notable big $ names wanted to fight him because he was too much of a risk and didn’t bring enough $ in. Would he have persevered until his mid thirties ( a age when most boxers fall off ) staying focused and building his brand until he was able to get the big fights

The what if games are pointless

Canelo was picked to be the sports golden child from a young age and given all the breaks but he’s made the most of it

Gennady wasn’t given sh.it for most of his career and came from a country with no fan base he had to build his brand from scratch without the help of any major players and didn’t start getting buzz until he was at a age when most boxers if they are even relevant are on their downswing and worked his way to be marketable and the best of his division

      Completely different circumstances
