a lot of insiders have been saying that Golovkin is ranked too high, because of his low opposition level
U know 160 Jacobs is much more difficult than 153 Cotto, Liam Smith, and Weight Draine Chavez Jr. U know Kell Brook would spank Amir Khan. So to say Canelo has a bettet Resume is ridiculous. 160 Lemiuex is much tougher than Chinny Khan and Liam Smith. Ur still living in Lara times, who Canelo barely beat.

Honestly when I read "Mexican Legends" I was expecting praise from MODERN legends such as Juan Manuel Marquez, Erick Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera and even Julio Cesar Chavez Senior.

Evidently, Canelo hasn't gained the respect of any of the modern legends, because his best win is that fight vs. Lara where he barely won, more because Lara ran like a coward, than for what Canelo really did in the ring.

The other two important victories, vs. Cotto and Trout, were also debatable. He should have KO'd Cotto, to make his win more convincing, yet he didn't even try. He respected the tiny guy too much. And as for Trout, that was a toss-up decision. Trout attacked Canelo more than the other way around, probably the knock down was the only justification to give Canelo a very tight decision.

But the most important thing, he looked PATHETIC vs. Mayweather Jr. In fact, of the "big fights" that Floyd had at the end of his career, that was probably the easiest for him. IMO Floyd, had he not been favored by the judges for fighting in Las Vegas, could or should have lost the 1st fight vs. Maidana and the fight vs. Pacquiao. Even Cotto was way more difficult for Floyd than Canelo.

IMO, if Canelo had drained himself to fight Pacquiao at 152, he would have received even a worse beating than he did from Floyd. In fact, he could have been stopped.

Bottom line, he may be getting "praise" from old legends, but I think he hasn't gained the RESPECT of anyone yet. This looks like the first time he will fight someone HIS OWN SIZE with a similar level of skills and more power than his. So I think we will see whether he gains the respect of the real legends or not.

Canelo was facing pressure from all angles to take this fight. He has only one fight at 154 and other wise was fighting above the SWW limit.

These are the two best guys around this weight for a while and people want to pay to see this fight

Trout was not debatable because he knew he was losing and did jack sht about it. It was like watching an NFL team losing and I stead of throwing hail Marcus they run on 3 downs from their own 20 and then PUNT.

If Canelo makes GGG chase him then Canelo will win the fight

Canelo loses if Red mex engages and slugs it out with GGG in a man a mano manner mid ring slugfest. Even though Canelo has the speed and youth advantage over GGG it appears GGG is much smarter than Canelo. If Canelo wants to prove he can KO GGG then the fight is already over. Not sure if Canelo the mex can actually fight a smart fight as mexicans hardly ever fight a smart fight. Mexican boxers just wail and flutter away till someone drops. Ole' Si'
