And cmon everyone knew that Cotto woulda dropped the belt over fighting GGG...f#ck didn't he drop or lose the belt before he even fought Canelo??? LOL. Cotto telegraphs his f#cking business moves ffs.

But what I'm saying is straight up boxing fans wanted GGG vs Canelo or GGG vs Cotto 2 years ago.

And the PPV event casual boxing fans wanted Canelo vs Cotto. And that's where the money is always at & now apparently that's retroactive history that everyone wanted that when that's not the case at all.
Not sure where I moved the goalpost, that's a confusing accusation. You made a comment about GGG being ducked by the top names, I gave an example of when he took money to step aside when he could've forced Cotto to give up the WBC belt or fight him.

Lol boxing fans didn't want Canelo vs GGG 2 years ago. Sure it was a fight people talk about lightly, like Mayweather vs GGG, or Crawford vs Pacquiao, where people mention here and there but the fight people were asking for was Cotto vs GGG. Even Lara vs GGG was being mentioned more than Canelo vs GGG. That's just revisionist history.

I said nothing about ducking. We were talking about what fans wanted to see. I'm just making a distinction between every day hardcore boxing fans wants & fair weather casual boxing fans wants if anything.

Most fighters, all promoters & all casual fans want money fights over competition. Hardcore fans want competition over money fights. And clearly GGG has been getting his **** pushed in the dirt for years over bigger money fights vs the bigger names. Ducking or not ducking doesn't even come into play. Its not about that. Its about money.

Fans wanted to see GGG vs Martinez, then GGG vs Cotto & then when Canelo started sneaking into MW by a pound his name started getting brought up. GGG vs top guys has been a thing since pre-pegleg Martinez ffs.

Canelo was getting asked about GGG in the lead up to the Cotto fight and said he was ready at the post fight interview.

No one even knew if Ward would fight more than once at that time. So if anyone expected ggg to drop his mandatory status for the WBC winner if Canelo/Cotto to fight a guy who at time was fighting on BET, then they were being daft.

And I think it was in August he sent the contract, around time Lemiuex fight was announced. He had fought once in three years, at LHW, against a SMW. In September was when Ward started talking about it and it became a subject during the October fight.
Difference was GGG was calling people out at 168. Canelo wasn't. He called Cotto out but no one else. Not Lemuix, not Saunders, and not GGG. So what Canelo had to go right tp 160 to please you and those other 97K fans???

Can't you just be happy for MISERABLE time in your life??? The fight I SIGNED for Christs sake.

I think pure boxing fans at that time wanted GGG vs Cotto more than Canelo being in the mix at all. Or Canelo vs GGG since any fight with Cotto seemed like a mony grab. You know since GGG had been avoided since Martinez was cashing in on Chavez Jr give or take.

GGG has been getting f#cked over in the division for years by the "money guys". I think people have forgotten cuz more cats are more into talking money over competition these days.

            I don't believe a word of that

the " money " guys, were Cotto/Canelo, and the notoriety guys were Ward.....

Mr " anyone from 154-168 " totally refused to negotiate on weight with little old faded 153lb Cotto

Golovkin LITERALLY walked away from that fight

then he pulled a catchweight on Ward

sorry, but I can't listen to that stuff no more

nobody fk'd Golovkin over..... he took the fights he wanted, and he passed on the rest..... just like everyone else

I see absolutely no indication ANYONE wanted to fight him til the fight got signed recently.

I believe I could find DiBella saying outright that Martinez "won't fight that monster" or someone else quoting him saying something like that.

Cotto hasn't wanted to fight anyone too threatening for anything less then a career high payday since the first Margarito fight & only fought Margarito a 2nd time when that mfers eye looked like a doll eye.

And Oscar has been trying to dodge Canelo from challenges openly for the last couple years ffs. Some people love to sh^t on GGG's resume recently, but no P4P discussed guy has fought more bs fights then Canelo as of late.

I'm no fanboy of GGG, f#ck I think he loses to Canelo & I've been thinking he loses to Canelo pre-Brook & Jacobs when some fans started re-thinking sh^t, but for sure none of these cats wanted anything to do with GGG & Canelo is only being ran up against this cat now when GGG's hitting 35 years old.

it's here in black n white.....

Golovkin Will NOT Entertain Cotto Catch-Weight Demand
Promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions explained to BoxingScene.com as to why his star fighter, WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs), will not accept a catch-weight for a potential unification with WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33KOs). Cotto has received a lot of heat from boxing fans and pundits, because his middleweight run has been built on the back of catch-weight fights.

that fight was there for the taking if Golovkin was willing to be a man of his word

this is what they said a few weeks earlier.....

Loeffler said that Golovkin would have no problem fighting at a catchweight against Alvarez, who fought Lara in a 155-pound bout.

We’ve always said that if there is a compelling fight, Gennady would move up or down, we’ve talked about moving up to 168 for Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. because that would be a pay-per-view fight and if it’s Canelo, then I’m sure that we could work out a catchweight if he wanted to work out a catchweight and if it’s in his best interest. So that would certainly be a pay-per-view fight,” said Loeffler.

There wouldn’t be any issues for us to come down to fight Canelo. There would still be a title on the line for Gennady because he would be fighting under 160, so he would be able to defend the titles at 156 or whatever you have the weight be. But Gennady would be willing to come down in weight to fight Canelo. I wouldn’t say it would be at 154 but certainly, given that Canelo fought his last fight at 155, then you could say that Gennady would certainly be willing to come down in weight to make the Canelo fight.

See & this is where we go into crazytown. I don't even know how to retort something like this cuz I don't really give a f#ck about any of these guys enough vs the level of f#ggotry with all of them. GGG trusts his idiot promoter. Canelo lets his dresswearing promoter control his career too much. And Cotto is the most diva guy who's never really accomplished diva level sh^t. And for me I can see that the money guys are just throwing the ball to each other as the non-money guy, GGG, tries to intercept the ball. If Liam Smith was GGG-caliber he'd never had fought Canelo either. If Chavez Jr was GGG-caliber he'd never had fought Martinez & Canelo.

That's just how the sport works. GGG would suck a **** & mighta had to to get a big money fight.
