GEE Don't/Won't have the same resistance as Chavez Jr.
(Only thing more hyped than his power is his CHIN)
Golovkin will look equally as slow & will take the same type of beating as Chavez.Comment

Fans were calling for Canelo-GGG even before Canelo-Cotto took place. Maybe not as much as now but they were definitely calling for it on the forums. I remember posts saying that he should be fighting GGG instead of Cotto because some people felt Cotto was shot and that GGG was the king of the division. Besides, Canelo was fighting at "middleweight" even before the Cotto fight, so naturally people wanted him to fight the king of the division. And although I would have liked Canelo-GGG two years ago, I though Canelo-Cotto was a good fight to make and even bought the PPV. So don't lump me in with those posters that were calling for the fight two years ago in your reply."Fans have been asking for this fight for at least 2 years"
This is a blatant lie which makes 0 sense.
Two years ago fans were asking for Canelo to fight Cotto. The Cotto fight happened November 2015, which is when the Canelo-GGG fight gained attention and became plausible. The fight was signed 1.6 years after Canelo beat Cotto.
Journalists please stop lying about the timelines of boxing, fans count on your articles to stay informed.
Thank you.Comment

Idk about all this exactly. I think PPV boxing fans wanted Canelo vs Cotto more in the same way PPV boxing fans wanted Canelo vs Chavez Jr more ten days ago."Fans have been asking for this fight for at least 2 years"

I think pure boxing fans at that time wanted GGG vs Cotto more than Canelo being in the mix at all. Or Canelo vs GGG since any fight with Cotto seemed like a mony grab. You know since GGG had been avoided since Martinez was cashing in on Chavez Jr give or take.
GGG has been getting f#cked over in the division for years by the "money guys". I think people have forgotten cuz more cats are more into talking money over competition these days.Last edited by Eff Pandas; 05-16-2017, 11:12 AM.Comment

I'm pretty sure he/K2 accepted $850k to step aside for Cotto-Canelo. If he didn't, WBC would've had to strip Cotto. They were putting pressure on Cotto to talk with GGG and negotiate a step aside fee, and they were very clear that it was up to K2. K2 decided to wait for the winner because of course this is a business, he wanted the big money fight that came with either the Cotto or Canelo fight, he didn't just want the title. If he just wanted the title, he'd have rejected the $850k step aside offer and force Cotto to fight him or drop the belt.Idk about all this exactly. People Were Discussing GGG v Canelo before the Cotto Fight
It's simple logic really, everyone knew GGG was mandatory to Cotto. WBC talked GGG into taking the step aside to let Cotto v Canelo happen. So it was natural people would assume Canelo would win and would be mandatory.
Canelo was getting asked about GGG in the lead up to the Cotto fight and said he was ready at the post fight interview.
No one even knew if Ward would fight more than once at that time. So if anyone expected ggg to drop his mandatory status for the WBC winner if Canelo/Cotto to fight a guy who at time was fighting on BET, then they were being daft.
And I think it was in August he sent the contract, around time Lemiuex fight was announced. He had fought once in three years, at LHW, against a SMW. In September was when Ward started talking about it and it became a subject during the October fight.Comment

Don't move the goalposts on me brother.I'm pretty sure he/K2 accepted $850k to step aside for Cotto-Canelo. If he didn't, WBC would've had to strip Cotto. And cmon everyone knew that Cotto woulda dropped the belt over fighting GGG...f#ck didn't he drop or lose the belt before he even fought Canelo??? LOL. Cotto telegraphs his f#cking business moves ffs.
But what I'm saying is straight up boxing fans wanted GGG vs Canelo or GGG vs Cotto 2 years ago.
And the PPV event casual boxing fans wanted Canelo vs Cotto. And that's where the money is always at & now apparently that's retroactive history that everyone wanted that when that's not the case at all.Comment
