As long as it doesn't affect Canelo-Golovkin I'm fine with this

Comments Thread For: UFC's White: I Reached Deal With McGregor - For Mayweather

We'll see if White is serious.
If White goes in there with the mentality that Mayweather is an employee and not his own boss then this deal will not get made. The problem with getting deals done most of the time is not the fighters but the promoters trying to make significantly more than the fighters.

Meaning the odds are stacked up against McGregor, He is already a noobie boxer with only his punching power to give him that very small chance of landing that perfect shot, but now even if he does land that perfect shot, Floyd won't get hurt with that as well, since he is a drained version of McGregor wearing pillow gloves lmao
thus making this fight a money grab that has failure written all over it.
That being said, he has no chance in a boxing match against Floyd or any good pro.

Conor won a belt at 145lbs (where he legit looked like a zombie) + was set to fight for the belt at 155lbs (randomly Canelo should consider a UFC career since they actually have Caneloweight in the UFC). The champion got injured or something & they put on a fight vs Nate Diaz at 170lbs (neither guys division at the time) cuz it was late notice & they didn't wanna worry about cutting weight. Conor catches a L & then wants to fight Diaz under the exact same terms as the original match so he can truly avenge the L which he didn't feel like he would've done if the fight took place at both guys' current weight of 155lbs. Conor wins the rematch & then wins the 155lb title a couple months later.

Idk about a failure doe.
Is it gonna be competitive? Nah, but how many Floyd fights have been competitive?
Is is gonna be fun to watch for the freak show aspect of it? Idek with any confidence. I think the first minute will have that appeal to even a lot of boxing & MMA fans, but I think it could look really bad & boring real quick from there.
Is it gonna make a sh^tton of money? Yes. It'll without question from my POV be the 2nd biggest PPV in combat sports PPV history (~2.5M+ gets it there iirc) worst case. I'd call that a success from the money grab aspect of it all.

Floyd truly understands the financial side of the fight game and knows what he brings to the table. dana is about to get a lesson in two-way negotiations.
You also have to factor in the buzz around McGregor, and the buzz around Mayweather. Nobody is looking at his fighters right now and McGregor is a better talker with a more passionate fan base. People don't trust floyd anymore and as someone in marketing, that's a huge tell of influence. Of course, Floyd should and will receive the larger share but it shouldn't be like a 70/30 split.

Mayweather gets the larger PPV take
If Dana asks for anything contradictory to the above, they don't understand what "B Side" means. All they got to do is agree to whatever Floyd asks for. It'd still be WAY more than Conor would make otherwise on a single fight and that's exactly how they did James Toney.
No direct mention, but Dana White preceded Haymon by quite a few years. The only overlap they might have had was over venue and fight dates.
All this talk about Conor doesn't make this or that. You don't realize your looking at the numbers UFC puts out for the official payroll, but the bonuses, ppv deals and sponsorship money will not be public. Conor made more than 20 million in his last fight
