GGG fights elite fighters like Brook and Jacobs and still wins while Canelo fights Khan and Chavez Jr. and now the Gingerbread man has stopped running on some false hope - can't wait for this one.
We have this fight and Kova v. Ward 2 - not to mention, Spence and Brook - and the Joshua fight we just had - boxing seems to be coming back from the dead like it always does.

**** this old punk mother****er Trinidad Sr. He's clearly off his medication. He said he hasnt seen a decline in g string. Did he not see his last two fights?? Or is he admitting that prior to the Kell Brook fight g string fought nothing but cab drivers...
Plus this old Punk mother****er is the same fool who was saying his son easily and clearly beat De la Hoya. **** him! De la Hoya put on a clinic that night! That was probably Oscar's greatest performance!
So obviously that punk don't know what he's talking about. He just has something against Mexicans. So **** him. He can go eat a **** and die!

Just because he wanted to train one guy for his whole career doesn't mean he's not successful. He was a former fighter so it's not like some guy without fighting experience like Jack Loew.
That's like a coach leading an NBA team to three titles and he's not considered great because he only coached that one team.
Trinidad was a great fighter and would've been great no matter who trained him...like Floyd, Manny, BHop, DLH, etc.
Want proof? Trinidad senior ain't trained nothing else

I think Alvarez is the more complete fighter, but Golovkin might be better at distance, leaving Alvarez to have to close that distance. He might not be able to.

Alvarez can fight better on the inside because Golovkin really doesn't at all but it is not like Canelo ever does any work to get to the spot inside he likes to hang out on the outside and just get in punching range. If he ends up in close he will work but that is all on the other guy really.
Even if Canelo is getting badly out boxed he won't really change it up. I have seen Golovkin win with the jab, I have seen him get aggressive when his boxing isn't working great so at least he is willing to go to different places if the situation calls for it.
That is my biggest gripe about Canelo I think he has a ton of boxing talent but I can set my watch by how he fights when he should be nowhere near that predictable with the amount of boxing talent he has.

A lot of the people on this forum, a surprising number of which don't really watch boxing seem to depict him as a KO artist.
His jab stats are way more impressive than his fairly low number of true knockout punches.
He outjabbed Jacobs 105 to 31
Lemieux 170 to 35
That being said, GGG is a great boxer. What makes him good is that he can win in different ways and he proved that against a big strong guy like Jacobs. Canelo can also win in different ways. Should be a good fight
