insider stories- ggg v canelo sparring

Canelo got tired punching the heavybag Chavez Jr.....bodes badly for him.....he will have success here and there but he reallly needs to make GGG wince from every bodyblow if he's to win this fight.....his feet are just too slow and his style too demanding on his stamina....Comment

I don't think it is a sign of things to come because GGG is much older now and further past his physical prime. Canelo is bigger, stronger and better than he was then. I still think GGG will win but I think Canelo could possibly win. It's a close fight in my opinion with GGG being the favorite but not by that much.Comment

I cant wait to see the reaction of all the GGG detractors when he puts a beating on canelo. They will have nothing to say. I think canelo will put a good fight though as long as he can, as much as i critisize him hes a great fighter but hes getting beat in september and beat soundly.Comment

It's irrelevant now and i say that as a fan of GGG.
Also, it's hardly a revelation that GGG would have the power to hurt Canelo, that's fairly obvious. If he catches you flush and hard, you're going to feel it.Comment

I think Ring reposted the whole original story.
GYM NOTES CLASSICS: WHEN CANELO AND GENNADY GOLOVKIN SPARRED
Editor’s note: Before you skip my wonderfully written introduction to this old Gym Notes column (originally published on ******.com in May 2011) to read the details of the sparring session I witnessed between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin please keep three things in mind:
1. This was just ONE session of many that took place over a three-to-four week period, so other eye-witness accounts will obviously vary.
2. I didn’t write it for the fanatical followers of both fighters to use as fodder for their endless, mindless, often rude and vulgar arguments in social media and comments sections. This column (originally titled “Gym Notes: Alvarez, Golovkin worth driving up a mountain to see”) merely recounted my first live “look” at an underground “boogeyman” of the Southern California gym scene and the first time I watched Canelo train and spar.
3. The sparring session was NOT a big deal at the time the Gym Notes was published. Yeah, both fighters were unbeaten beltholders but Golovkin was still unknown (to an American audience) and Alvarez was still unproven. Nobody that bothered to comment under the original article said anything to the tune of “Wow! I can’t wait for these two fight one day!”
So clear your minds of all the current media-hype momentum (and hardcore-fan baggage) that Canelo-Golovkin currently has.

I was actually caught off guard by the first post.....i obviously wasnt there....but the few write ups I read suggested that ggg was bigger, stronger and did get the better of it....however, a young Canelo had his moments and made it very competitive.Comment
