Yeah, I saw those videos years ago. Keep in mind that they were created in 2014, and reference fights that took place before that. Due to style change with Sanchez, and general aging, Golovkin is generally not mobile enough today to use that technique often. He used to be a more fluid and mobile fighter in his late 20s and early 30s than he is today.

Don't be surprised if you do not see this at all during the Canelo fight.

If you get caught square like inbetween switching, you're gonna be in a lot of trouble. You can afford to do it against lower level opponents because they're not likely to make you pay, so you can take chances, but somebody like Canelo could time you as you're coming in.

It's a dangerous move and definitely flawed.

At the end of the day, it's the craftsman who makes the product, not the tools.
So true. It's not the bow, it's the Indian

Thank you for this response. I almost fell for the "magic" from a video about how Canelo was Scared of Chavez because he kept looking at how Large Chavez's hands were. The video went on for about 10 minutes about how Chavez was cherry picked but Canelo realized he made a mistake.
Obviously, we know what happened lol

Another fight to watch is porter vs Thurman for an example of poor footwork. Shawn Porter would have twice the success if he shifted as he closed the gap instead of leaping in and smothering his own punches. Would have destroyed Thurman.
Wow, was waiting for someone to post this. Salido did much more than people give him credit for.

It can also produce a counter at your face ,its known technic ,GGG can use it good but its not some godly technic.

Every other technique in boxing can get your face smashed. For some reason, this technique gets downgraded. I think it's because it closes distance and well, what modern boxing fan wants to see an inside fight? That would be too manly.
