Comments Thread For: Joshua vs. Pulev is Next if Klitschko Rejects Rematch, Says Hearn

ANTHONY JOSHUA will find out in two weeks if he is set for a blockbusting heavyweight rematch with Wladimir Klitschko. Promoter Eddie Hearn is working on the fight, which would be worth even more than their 40m Wembley thriller last month. Heavyweight champion Joshua is also set to retain the IBF belt if he faces the Ukrainian again, despite fears he could be stripped.

Maybe when Ortiz is 50 someone will actually let the poor guy fight.

I would rather Prefer a Ortiz fight. I'd Vlad doesn't take this fight AJ should fight 2 more times in smaller fights he should fight Pulev in August/September.. He should be able to blast him out, give him a payday then fight Ortiz in a big fight in December.

Let Wilder deal with Stivern.. Then he can unify with Parker end of this year.. Then early 2018 the mega unification for all belts AJ vs Wilder.. Wishful thinking I know lol

Cherry pick the easiest fight that no one wants to see what a surprise. Hearn and his pet poodle Joshua have ZERO intention of proving they are the best heavyweight nor do they have any intention of "making the biggest fights". The objective for shister pimp Hearn is to pick the easiest paydays for his cash cow. Calling out the semi-retired, orca, coke head, positive drug test issue Fury after the Klit fight was embarrassing enough for Joshua.

the sport desperately needs the organizations to create unified mandatories. when a guy holds two belts, his two mandatories fight each other to become unified mandatory. accomplishes two things. #1 - now the mandatory has a big win the world was paying attention to. #2 - the champion can't just ditch a belt to duck a guy. he'd have to ditch BOTH BELTS, which would be seen as such a blatant duck, the champion would lose all credibility.

the WBC & WBA recently mentioned they want to work together on this, but there haven't been any updates since.

top guys only fight twice a year. they should never have more than one mandatory a year no matter how many belts they hold.

Why are people ****ting on Pulev?? He's still a top 10 heavyweight who would beat anyone on Wilder's resume (except of Washington)

Klitschko gets knocked out earlier if he takes the rematch. No need for one the way it ended

I don't know that Ortiz is better than Pulev. Ortiz looked awful against Malik Scott (Who has been KOed twice). He looked slow and limited hunting for the knock out. The performance would suggest that either the age is starting to catch up to him or that he got exposed.

I would suggest that Ortiz fight Stiverne next but It doesn't seem Stiverne is interested in that fight.

That will be a good fight to well round Joshua a little more. Be fun to see if Pulev has figured out how to defend against that left hook yet.
