So Tom was looking at 2017 which means GGG would need more tune ups, not Ward.
cotto/canelo is a tune up how??? silliest thing i ever heard from a fanboy. the wbc said they were going to enforce the mandatory after cotto/canelo aka in early 2016. when did ward want to fight? in early 2016. ward knew all this and yet he still wanted to fight at the same time. it was just a publicity stunt to trick low information fans and nothing more. if he realyl wante to fight he wold have offered a fair contract(not 50-50) for a fight right away since ggg was waiting for the wbc. he did not do that now did he? thats why you are a fanboy. you expect ggg to make ****** decisions just becuse you dont like him. fight ward instead of fighting cotto/canelo! oh wait canelo later ducked him he should have known! lets blame ggg for being stood up! you expected ggg to commit himself long term to a ward fight when he was in line to face cotto canelo. silly.

his plans were to get all the belts and get a huge fight. taking step aside money preserves both options. this is meaningless when it comes to ward of course because the ward offer came much before this when ggg thought he was getting the big fight next but i guess you have to conflate the time line in order to pretend ggg actually ducked ward. you really expect ggg to commit himself long term when he was waiting for the wbc to mandate the fight....and you arent a fanboy how?

you blame Floyd for fights not happening while he was being stood up for years by several different men. why can't others blame GGG?

Well two "tune-ups" for being out ~2 years and moving to a new weight class. The 3rd fight was when he beat Kovalev

Sorry he's not white nor a radical black and you hate him for not fitting the stereotype :/

Ward got exposed against Kovalev, they said Kovalev was only a puncher that he had no real skillset like Ward, but look what happened!
I think It just goes to show that these racist people in that dummygraphic really think and judge via their hatred not with their head, sad!

              End of thread right here!
Gamboa had a year and 3 months absence and he came back to fight Crawford, it goes to show you how privileged Andre Ward really is.

It's like these idiots say, "Great people take risks" well, where was the risk that Ward took?
He made all of you wait like idiots drooling at your god damn screen waiting for him to fight a live body and as soon as he did fight someone half decent i.e Sullivan Barrera he got beat up and took another dodgy decision similar to the Kovalev one.

This American privilege of being more beat up and damage = you winning really does confuse me, the bias from you lot is really funny you lot are too blind to see it!

Waiting for the WBC to mandate? The fight was mandated before Cotto-Canelo was signed, Golovkin took step aside money. The fight was mandated before Canelo fought Khan, Golovkin took step aside money. Golovkin could have fought Ward and the fight would have still been there after. He knew he'd lose and ducked.

OH? If WARD so DESPERATE to fight Golovkin why did he say that he needs to have some tune ups instead of fighting him immediately when Golovkin was available? Golovkin called him out when Ward talk crap against him exposing to the world that he refused to fight him because of some shoulder excuse and tune ups.

Ward never made a serious offer to fight when GGG could fight him. Ward made his publicity stunt challenge to GGG at a time when GGG was under a legal contract to fight Lemieux. GGG couldn't possibly fight Ward at that time without risking a law suit and one of his title belts.. Long before GGG knocked out Lemieux Ward had a catchweight fight with Smith at 172 pounds. Nobody on this forum has ever seen or heard the details of Ward's so called offer to fight GGG. Where was the fight supposed to take place? Oakland maybe? What was the weight limit supposed to be? 168, 172 or 175? How much money did Ward or his people offer GGG to fight him. Nobody knows because no serious offer to fight was ever made. You can't say GGG ducked a fight with Ward unless you know the details of the fight he was offered. You don't know those details and neither does anyone else on this forum.

                      plain and simple...

andre ward did not ask for 3 tuneup fights before golovkin

A video interview with unbeaten super-middleweight champion Andre Ward has stirred up his rivalry with unbeaten middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin.

"Loeffler said the email from an official of Ward’s promoter, Roc Nation Sports, extends a 50/50 purse-split offer to fight in 2016 after each fighter took one fight earlier in the year."

pugmire took that info directly from loeffler

ward contacted them before lemieux fight took place..golovkin was to take that fight and then each guy take one fight and fight after that

how many times are the golovkinites/anti ward guys gonna run around here saying "but ward asked for 3 tuneups"

                      he did not
