Comments Thread For: Immediate Rematch Clause for Canelo, But Not for Golovkin

Being the "A" side has its benefits. For Canelo Alvarez, those benefits include the knowledge that if he loses to Gennady Golovkin on September 16, he is owed an immediate rematch. According to a report published in Tuesday's editions of the Los Angeles Times, there is a clause in the contracts for their middleweight championship showdown that stipulates Golovkin would have to fight Alvarez again in his next bout if he defeats the Mexican superstar.

I always knew he would have 1. Unless he gets KTFO and don't want one.

If GGG wants to keep his 0 he can't afford a close decision. He's gotta win clear as day or get the k.o. if it's close Canelo will get the W on the cards. No way in hell they'll give it to GGG if it's close.

The key to victory for GGG is gonna be his jab and body shots mark my words

That a given, all that does is put an emphasis for a KO result from his opponent.

One thing I love about this fight (aside from the match-up): it has made all the bull***** in boxing irrelevant for a little while. It blew any Floyd plans out of the water and took our attention away from the fact that Cotto is still looking for a punching bag and Pac is fighting a kangaroo.

And, for the record, I'm a long-time Cotto fan...but this fight is where it's at right now, and just about everything else (with an exception or two) can suck a bag of d1cks.
