broner had maidana's arms locked up in a ward like vice grip. maidana should have done that against floyd in the rematch when he wouldnt stop clinching but that money tamed him
Things like that happen when the ref doesn't do anything when one fighter holds/clinches, like Broner did in most of the rounds. The other fighter gets frustrated and takes it upon himself and retaliates like rabbit punch, etc. In rare cases it results in tragedy like the Prichard Colon case. That's why the ref should be held responsible.
I know how much you guys like to b**** and moan about Broner playing "possum" in that fight but that really was a mean headbutt from a dirty fighter. Headbutts are completely illegal and immoral in this prestigious sport.
If Broner had stayed down and played the "victim", he could have easily taken a W via form of DQ. You guys should be happy that he didn't do that, like some of your other favorite fighters would have. He showed true heart in that fight even if he was in there with a bigger, dirtier fighter, not to mention that was only his second fight at welterweight. Some "other" fighters won't even move up a single division.
so basically, you're saying you would have been "ok" if broner faked it and got chino DQ? you would have been happy with a win like that? **** boy shiiet.

You only have a problem with this loss because you view Maidana is a white guy, pretty funny tbh.
You're aware If Maidana was a big name he would have got the nod over Mayweather in their first fight, right?
Only reason Broner moved up was because he could no longer starve himself to 130 or even 135 to have a significant size advantage against his opponents. Thread starter tried to take a crack at GGG but he doesn't have any problems making 160 and he's an average sized middleweight. Since Broner started fighting guys his own size, he's looked average at best.
Second, I think he exaggerated the headbutt to buy time because he was still hurt from the previous knockdown. I don't necessarily think he was trying to win by DQ. I'm not even sure Maidana would've been DQ'd had Broner not been able to continue.
