Floyd/Macgregor isn't going to appeal to the Mexican market because it isn't a real fight. it will however massively appeal to the PPV market-which is bigger than the Mexican boxing market in the US-and would be the bigger event among casual fans.

Also, what about the african american market. While I do believe Mexicans make up a significant part of the market, the top 2 PPV atrs, Floyd and Manny, and 4 of the top 5 are not mexican.

    Didn't cotto/canelo move to November for Floyd/berto?
No it didn't Cotto the PR fighter refused to fight on that Mexican date and got his way to have the fight in Nov. And Canelo is a much bigger star now then BEFORE he beat Cotto and Canelo/GGG is a much bigger fight overall then Cotto/Canelo. Again dana white who knows more of what is going on said they are moving the date because of Canelo/GGG. Not sure why you arguing this point. There is no significance in a UFC event being on a Mexican holiday. Who cares it will just make money on another date. Boxing fans are the ones who are tied to this date and that circus fight is not attracting more boxing fans head to head then the biggest Mexican superstar in the biggest fight on the biggest Mexican holiday. I'll say it again there is no fight that is pushing Canelo/GGG off sept and floyd isn't ****** enough to try and Dana who is part of that fight already admitted this.

I am not arguing any point. I am simply saying the decision will not be Dana's

I just read up on Dana's quotes:
“We just lost our date to Canelo and Triple-G, but good, that’s a good fight. I’ll be at that one, too,” UFC president Dana White revealed when speaking to Fight Hub after the Alvarez vs. Chavez Jr. match.

Sources told FOX Sports that Sept. 16 was the date McGregor and Mayweather had planned to meet if the two sides could come together on an agreement for the mega-fight that’s expected to be one of the biggest events of all time.

Now it looks like McGregor and Mayweather will have to look for a new date for their fight, assuming negotiations go well to put the matchup together. McGregor and White are expected to meet soon before sitting down with Mayweather’s team to hammer out a deal for the fight.

Unfortunately it appears McGregor and Mayweather will now either need to move up the date for their proposed fight or push it back past September because Canelo vs. Golovkin is also expected to draw sizable numbers even if it’s not as big as the matchup between the biggest star in UFC history and boxing’s retired pound-for-pound king.
          We will see.
