No for multiple reasons. Floyd is over 40 and is retired. I don't think Golovkin will KO Canelo. And even if he does and becomes the bigger name in the boxing world, Floyd vs. Golovkin still does not sell $100M. He just doesn't have the time left in his career to establish himself as a huge crossover fight.

I would think he'd have a better chance to beat GGG@ 154 because GGG has never fought at that weight. However, IMO, he will have been out a very long time which will surely have an affect on his speed, timing and reflexes.
But Mayweather is pretty exceptional...we just saw the 41 year old Klitsckho in exceptional fighting form and heavyweights tend age faster.

Floyd earned the position to be able to lessen his risk and increase his reward.

I would advise Floyd to swerve GGG, he is wealthy and has nothing to prove. Guys like Floyd and Pacquiao, they are beyond high-risk high-reward paydays.

besides, I do not care to watch Floyd run and pot shot GGG for 12 on the way to a decision win.

        Floyd will never fight GGG.

Ok, fair point. I would be rooting for Floyd big time either way but it looks like the Conor garbage is going to happen.

GGG has said in the past he would come down to 154 for Mayweather...and at this point 147 might be a little hard for Mayweather to even make.

I think it's the only super fight $$ for Mayweather to have as a comeback fight...unless you think McGregor vs Mayweather is even possible which would probably make Canelo vs Jr look like a classic.

Anyone think this may come off?
Never say never but it's very unlikely. Mayweather would probably be 41 years old by the time the fight is made. You can also factor in the difference in size. Not likely. He has his health and a lot of fighters are damaged mentally when they call it quits.

There's no version of canelo that would beat mayweather. I know one idiot judge had it even but everyone knows canelo got schooled. Why would mayweather come out of retirement and fight a middleweight? He never really made 154.

Floyd is a big enough star for the both of them. IF it happened, I think it breaks 100M. But it probably doesn't happen.

WW-MW is not like HW, the pace is far more intense and speed is triple and the skill level is on another planet.

Then you got Floyd is way past his best, the slide really started after he beat Canelo.

Then you got a guy that started at 130 fighting a much larger MW who is a natural MW, Floyd is way smaller than Brook and look how GGG was such a bigger fighter on the night.

GGG will not fight Ward because of the size and skills that go with Wards size, it is unreasonable to expect Floyd at this stage of his career to fight the worlds best MW.

Floyd standing along side GGG would be dwarfed and if a CW of 154 was in place and Floyd won it would be all about how drained GGG was and Floyd gets no credit anyway.

Fight is never going to happen.
