Is Tarver as good as the hype?

I just got a chance to go back on HBO On-Demand and was watching the MAB vs Rocky Juarez fight and was watching ther interview with Hopkins and Tarver....now ive got to ask the opinions of you guys....

Is Tarver as good as he says?...I've seen a few of his fights and obviously he is impressive, but calling himself the best light heavy ever, and the best fighter Hopkins has ever faced....


am I ****** for thinking if Hopkins comes out fighting that he has a shot at Tarver? or is he truly that much better than Bernard?

No No and hell no. He is a heavy wieght fighting at light heavy and that is the sole reason he is a problem for anyone in that division. If he moves up to cruiser or heavy against someone credible, he gets ktfo. He is 61 or 2 and walks around at 210 even before the rocy movie.Don't be suprized iflil old man bernard beats him.

did Roy Jones ever beat any p4p'ers? Hopkins wasn't at the time. Toney, I'll give you that one.

I never liked RJJ to begin with and your right...other than Toney he hasn't beat any p4p. The only props i really give Jones is the fight with the much larger Johnny Ruiz. Glen Johnson beating RJJ wasnt much of an accomplishment IMO just because RJJ was already a defeated fighter before that fight even began and didn't have the confidence of old.

iam a huge roy jones fan, i even met the man but im not going to hate, antionio tarver is a good ****ing fighter. he may be boring but his skills are sharp nad he is tough match for anybody around his weight.

Tarver reigns supreme in the div cuz there aint no competition to begin with.

That's right there ain't no competition because he is above the rest in terms of skills that division.

Tarver is benefiting from a water-ed down aged division. he is talented, but not A-class.

after the fight with MAB and juarez ... in the interview , to me hopkins looked and acted kinda shook (he was studdering n ****) ... tarver on the other hand was calm and confident...

hopkins is my man , and i definitely want him to win, but i think one big shot by tarver and its over , its just a size issue nothing more,...
