Is Tarver as good as the hype?

I just got a chance to go back on HBO On-Demand and was watching the MAB vs Rocky Juarez fight and was watching ther interview with Hopkins and Tarver....now ive got to ask the opinions of you guys....

Is Tarver as good as he says?...I've seen a few of his fights and obviously he is impressive, but calling himself the best light heavy ever, and the best fighter Hopkins has ever faced....


am I ****** for thinking if Hopkins comes out fighting that he has a shot at Tarver? or is he truly that much better than Bernard?

if bernard was 35 he would kill tarver, just destroy him., he beat the **** out of an undefeated glen johnson in 97, he stopped him in the 11th round. he would have stopped tarver back then too. now he has a shot but might not have the workrate to do it.

He is not as good as he thinks....but many are'nt.Tarver is a very good fighter no matter what people want to say.He blossomed late because of his own personal demons.Why do you think he was obsessed with taking RJJ down.No matter what happens from here on out Tarver was the 1st to KO the great RJJ and I know he can live with that and smile..... even if Hopkins KOs him......which won't happen. Tarver= A fighter that accomplished his ultimate goal.

Like I said in a previous post, beating Roy Jones Jr. who was already on the decline doesn't make you an all time great. I don t know , maybe the fact that there is no one in this division that really turns heads but beating guys like Griffin , Harding and Johnson aren't gonna cut it. I guess he is the all time greatest light heavy because this weight class sucks and is lacking talent , IMO.
