How sadass that a full priced PPV event turns out with the winner looking so untouched that he can attend a post fight press conference looking perfect to announce his next fight.
A guy that can't win ONE round off lil Floyd....ain't beating a strong MW.
Golovkin's not Floyd, though.
Whether it's the Jacobs fight, the Brook fight, or for spots in the Willie Monroe Jr and Gabriel Rosado fights, Golovkin has made it utterly clear that he's nowhere near as effective if you make him 1)try to fight going backward or 2)fight him in/out instead of in full retreat.
Alvarez isn't going to run, Alvarez seems pretty comfortable fighting long/mid/close, Alvarez fights in combination, and Alvarez has no qualms counter-punching.
Interested to see what the betting line on the fight will be
Canelo couldn't knock Chavez out, and he was there to be hit. And some people think he can knock Golovkin out.
Levels my friends. Chin, punching power, ring generalship, size.
... Chavez Jr is significantly bigger than Golovkin is, with arguably a sturdier chin (Chavez Jr has fought at light heavyweight, against a legit puncher, while Golovkin and his camp seem terrified of moving from 160lbs).
You add that Golovkin doesn't have the power to one-punch guys, in addition to his taste for blocking shots with his face, I'd hold off on the boasts for a bit
Canelo has never faced a true middleweight fighter. Chavez jr. is a big guy, but he is not a puncher at all.
Canelo should fight one true top 10 middleweight before he faces GGG.
From Khan, Liam Smith and Chavez jr...to GGG? I don˙t know what de la Hoya thinks, but this seems a very bad plan to me.
... Chavez Jr was a middleweight world champion, in addition to having fought a hard 9 rounds against a legit light heavyweight.
Golovkin's been fighting at the same weight, more or less, since he was 21 years old (same-day 165lbs during his last couple years as an amateur vs day-before 160lbs doesn't seem to much different to me). And Golovkin isn't some gigantic puncher either, lol.
It probably cost thousands but he every much looks like he's a teenager wearing his first suit. He normally dresses quite well.
Weird that you say that as i was thinking the opposite...i thought canelo looked a million bucks and ggg looked like he got his suit tailored at some chinatown knock off store. And im a ggg fan...i cant stand that red headed krunt.

First paragraph is a fair point. But I keep my position on GGG. Let's make a friendly bet. All your points. Canelo wins and I'll triple your current amount.

So what's the bet? Golovkin throttles Alvarez is 6 rounds, or something? Will gladly take that wager.
Because, outside of that, betting all my points (no idea what the points do anyone, but whatever) doesn't make all that much sense.
Alvarez-Golovkin is a 50/50 fight and, were it to hit the final bell, would likely end in a 7-5 type fight, either way.
With no real loyalty/allegiance to Alvarez on my part, a straight-up "Alvarez wins" bet doesn't make all that much sense to me.
