LOL, the same Rios that quitted and cried into retirement after the Bradley fight?

Never knew these two guys were ever going to fight. The weight difference between both guys never intersected

His last fight he dropped and was beating Oscar escandon who is now fighting for the title. Was on the way to winning until he got headbutt. He beat Caballero, rocky Juarez. You have to look at the names he's beat and when those loses came. 10 of his loses were early his career over 7 years ago when he was learning to fight. He is not a bum I said when the fight was announced this will be a tough fight and that gamboa could lose. Because I seen Castellanos fight and know who he has been in the ring with. If you just look at the win loss record you don't know that.
Excellent post. Way too much value is placed on flawless records nowadays. Everyone is fed that propaganda, and too many believe it. Some fighters learn the ropes through trial by fire. They pile up losses early in their careers, but if they stick with it and get better, they become more dangerous than their record suggests. Salido is like that.

Gamboa is no bum. I truly believe he cd ko Crawford if there wasn't such a huge size dif.
He can come back. Hate you guys crucifying fighters when they take an L.

I wouldn't say Gamboa was done then. But looking back, it was clear that the layoff hurt him, perhaps permanently. And it was not to be Yuri's only layoff from boxing. In the last 5 1/2 years, Gamboa was inactive for at least one year four times. That's just insane. It would be difficult for any fighter, even the most talented, to tolerate that kind of inactivity, let alone an athlete who is now 35 years old. Gamboa did it to himself. Such a waste.

It's not just the fact that Gamboa lost. It's the fact that he looked clearly shot. He looked great against Crawford before the end, and there's no shame in losing to a guy like that, but against Castellanos it was different. Yuri has nothing left. He saw that himself and quit not merely the fight, but his career.

He quit but its fine. He was not in the fight. His punches had no effect and his d was zero.

As usual the keyboard warriors are just that, who isngoing tl pay his Medical bills? Remember Mago?

He is done. He knows it. He likely has no savings, so he may be forced to fight a few more. WOuldnt surprise me to see him face an absolute bum and then be fed to Valdez or something lile that. Sad ending. I enjoying him a great deal in his prime (we missed most lf it)

No shame for me here. His body is done, kinda like Oscar vs Pac
