While he did mismanage his career... that's NOT why he lost. He lost because he didn't want to be 'embarrassed' by being knocked out or stopped.

He got scared of what he thought was gonna come next.

Gamboa didn't train for this fight... Anyway, he rather looks like a ****** guy (even if he was blessed with talent)...

He quit simple as that. In terms of the score cards the fight was basically even he just didn't want to dig down and try didn't want to be hit anymore. His corner wasn't talking about stopping it neither was the ref all on him.

Signing with 50 ruined his career. Was one of the top fighters in boxing but a scam artist who had no business promoting wasted his prime with inactive because he couldn't make fights, drama, went bankrupt, then oh yeah sacrificed Gamboa to a huge crawford. It's almost criminal what 50 did to this kid. Fans were hoping maybe he could make a comeback now that promotional drama was behind him. But it's too late not much left. His first fight you could chalk up to rust. But this his second fight back and the speed and power he used to have is gone. He shows flashes but he's not the same he always had flaws defensively but made up for it with that speed.

Reminds me of Roy Jones who had bad fundamental technique too but amazing reflexes once those dropped he was cooked and it happened fast. It's why others with great defense and fundamentals can keep fighting latter in years as life takes away their speed and lose power.

The worst thing Bob Arum did when Gamboa was under the Top Rank bannister was to sit on a Gamboa /JuanMa fight until it gained more popularity.

From a promotional standpoint I understand what he was doing but it was literally a double edge sword. Both fighters were fundamentally flawed and exposed by lesser competition and both had issues outside of the ring that effected them in getting back in the ring (i.e legal woes etc ).

Arum should have let them fight and cash out on BOTH of them.

Rios be putting that fear in these boyz!
Another idiotic post from you. Rios was practically 3 weight classes above him and stood at 135 longer than he should have to have a weight advantage.

And your hero Garcia ducked him. Have fun crying yourself to sleep over that.

This is what's wrong with boxing. Castellanos is not a bum. His record is very misleading anyone who seen him fight knows this. He knocked out Ronny rios. His last fight he dropped and was beating Oscar escandon who is now fighting for the title. Was on the way to winning until he got headbutt. He beat Caballero, rocky Juarez. You have to look at the names he's beat and when those loses came. 10 of his loses were early his career over 7 years ago when he was learning to fight. He is not a bum I said when the fight was announced this will be a tough fight and that gamboa could lose. Because I seen Castellanos fight and know who he has been in the ring with. If you just look at the win loss record you don't know that.
