Great idea! That would be a fun one to watch.

One thing I've been wondering is how Jacobs was able to keep GGG off of him more than Lemieux. Lemieux is known to be a monster puncher. Is Jacobs that much more of a puncher? That would say a lot about Jacobs. IIRC, Jacobs' footwork is better than Lemieux's, so he's able to better avoid getting cut off in the ring.

Jacobs is bigger with a longer reach, he would only need to box you at a distance, there would be no need for him to test your power.
Great points. You reminded me why GGG white washed Lemieux. I haven't finished my coffee yet, so I'm a little slow this morning.

I think the fight could be more competitive *if* Father Time has slowed GGG down and if Lemieux has developed a little bit.

This was the deal: " Lemieux, you go fight GGG, rough him up a bit, then we'll fight him, and then you'll get your big payday with Canelo". Then they saw what GGG did to him and were like : " Hmmm... Maybe we'll let it marinate a while". lol

Did Lemieux think he not get beat up enough? I don't recall that fight as all that competitive, but if Davey does get Canelo in September & beat him fair play lets see a rematch I guess.

David. Forget GGG. He busted you up once. It'll happen again or only worse. He should look at Charlo and other talent that's available. DL doesn't need to use GGG's name to remain relevant, he needs quality wins against quality opponents.

I think Jacobs' power is helped tremendously by his athleticism. He's a fast and explosive guy. Punch for punch they are probably about equal in terms of power but Jacobs punches will get their first. When combined with his reach and boxing ability I honestly don't see Lemieux having much of a chance.

I like David, that road to him and Golovkin showed a private side of him which was touching but that aside he's too easy to open up. He'll eat the jab then try to block the jab and open his midsection up to punishment. That tied into the fact he likes to load up leaves him very vulnerable to liver shots. His limitations were glaringly exposed in that fight.

Unfinished business? He lost every round, got dropped, didn't even try to make it a brawl because he was so scared of GGG's jab and power. What's gonna change?

I was rooting for Lemieux since I'm Canadian but another fight will end pretty much the same way.
