Comments Thread For: Chavez Can Correct 13 Years of Inconsistency, Irresponsibility In One Night

By Keith Idec - LAS VEGAS Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. isn't here because anyone on Canelo Alvarez's team honestly thinks Chavez can win. Promoter Oscar De La Hoya, matchmaker Eric Gomez, co-trainers Eddy Reynoso and Jose "Chepo" Reynoso, and Alvarez himself chose Chavez because they think he's low-risk, high-reward work that won't threaten Alvarez's prominent position within the brutal boxing business...

If the 164 title will do it, I guess so. This is good for bragging rights on the other side of the wall. We all know who's at 160 and 168 is shark infested.

Memo Heredia aside, Canelo stops this guy OR makes him quit inside of 8 rounds.

This is a nothing fight for no bragging rights and honestly I don't even think the Mexicans care. The best thing about it it's the day after Cinco de Mayo so they can keep drinking... if the fraud comes out gunning Jr is gone within 7...

          We care, trust!

Anyway, it's now or never for Chavez jr, the fact that he's aware of it makes it all better!

The problem with guys like Chavez is that he will get ****** into his old ways once the pressure is on. Nacho and Memo can make improvements and adjustments, but he's already developed too many bad habits, and working with him in just one fight isn't enough to change his boxing DNA when a fight breaks out.

Idk about all that. I think even if JCC Jr somehow finds a way to win he's gonna Buster Douglas the situation next fight.

                Viva Mexico! Viva Canelo!!!

                Viva Mexico!
OK, Cinco de Mayo, Canelo vs Chavez Jr. - Even though the bout occurs in the shadow of last weeks mega, Heavyweight showdown, it is a compelling meeting of two Mexican opposites. IF, for the 1st time in his career, Chavez Jr. has trained diligently, managed his weight-cut early and slowly, stopped smoking weed, and is now able to listen to his corner, then he could use his size and durability to wear Canelo down and win by late stoppage. But Chavez Jr is not the guy to turn himself around like that, he's too comfortable with his life and his losses...
Canelo shows his class and proves he's ready for GGG by stopping Chavez Jr. with a L hook to the liver in Rd 5.
                Viva Mexico!

I think Oscar and The Diva finally outsmarted themselves.
Redemption is the most powerful potion in boxing.
Junior is going to Rage Against The Machine in an honorable and brutal fashion.

I disagree 100%. Even if Chavez comes in focused and wins big it's no guarantee he won't fall back into old habit.
