Comments Thread For: Canelo: When The Golovkin Fight Happens - NO WBC Title!

Hahaha, thought it was on like donkey kong for September? Now it's "when the fight happens"?
Why is that? Because you don't think you'll make it past Chavez or you and your pimp have been lyrical by your asses off about fighting lil g?Comment

1) nobody said " next "..... I said I was willing to bet you that Canelo will fight Jacobs before Golovkin rematches Jacobs..... Jacobs is not a boogieman/killer
2) it is highly unlikely that Golovkin will fight Canelo in September..... in fact, he won't..... that fight may never happen..... here is why
FACT: if Golovkin REALLY wanted to fight Canelo, it would have happened already..... he was offered that fight TWICE, and he killed it over weight, then money
if they REALLY wanted that fight, they would have accepted Canelo's FIRST 8-figure offer at 160, let alone the second - much better - offer..... they would have accepted that good offer to secure him contractually
folks who insist that Golovkin is holding out for more money are fooling themselves.....
they will NOT be offered more money, and they know it..... so why risk losing the fight completely?
IF Golovkin/Canelo happens it will be late 2018
it will happen for the same reason that Floyd/Pac happened..... because the promoter of the over-hyped fighter had run out of options/excuses
and there is nothing wrong with Canelo using Golovkin's 2nd/3rd best opponent as a tuneup..... if/when Golovkin refuses Canelo's offer for September, Lemieux is a no-brainer..... same promoter/good money/easy winComment

G wants the fight. He wants it on terms favorable to him. The same as any other fighter. He's the champ so he dictates the terms. If Canelo doesn't like it he can go kick rocks down the road. That's my view and that's what I would tell Canelo if I were in his position. If the fight doesn't get made well too bad. It's up to G to decide how much money is acceptable to put his titles on the line.
then..... he doesn't want the fight, plain and simple
and you are silly for arguing that point
according to you..... Mr " anyone from 154-168 " is a fkn pu55y..... a pu55y who could have already fought Canelo TWICE, IF he did not insist that fight happen on "his terms"
first Mr " anyone from 154-168 " shat the bed over weight, so he should have the balls to back up his "businessman" mouth by accepting an 8-figure sum that would setup his kids for life..... and he should at least attempt to be great, like Chavez did, like Hopkins did, etc.....
btw, props for your honesty..... not many Golovkin fans are willing to admit that Golovkin will only fight on his terms..... I have a link quoting Sanchez admitting that, and also admitting that Golovkin has no regard for legacy..... but that link seems to go down like a cup of cold sick on this siteComment

btw, the most polite term to describe that, is cherry-pickingComment

He took the money because there was no way on God's Green Earth that Cotto would ever get in the ring with G at 160. Cotto knows deep down that he would be annihilated by Golovkin. He's too close to the end of his career to risk his health in a fight he can't possibly win.
1) Golovkin..... ooops, I mean..... Mr "anyone from 154-168" totally refused to negotiate on weight with little old faded 153lb Cotto..... who was his best possible payday
2) then Golovkin took step-aside money LOL
Golovkin LITERALLY stepped out of Cotto's way, and avoided that fight like the plague.....TonyGe just admitted that Golovkin will not fight unless it happens on his terms..... which is another way of saying that he is a "protected" network darling who will not take any kind of risk
he LITERALLY stepped out of Cotto's wayComment

Vrigil has put his foot in his mouth on more than one occasion. Personally I like hearing from trainers on the strategy and experience topics, aside from that they just tend to hoist up their guys a bit too high and create dislike for them. Examples: Roach, Garcia (Angel), Hunter, Sanchez, Mayweather (Both Roger and Floyd Sr). I like the classic trainer man, miss them old days where the guy trained his fighter but showed respect to the opponent.Comment
