WBC was in the right last fall when they stripped him after 15 days because he had all year to decide if he was going to finally fight GGG.


WBC is in the wrong though with creating another fake belt just to cash in and collect fees. Props on nelo and jr for rejecting that. shame on WBC strategically naming the belt to try to make it look like nelo was saying something he wasnt.

So he admits he's mad at the WBC for forcing him to fight his mandatory. That's why he's rejecting the belt. It's not about money or a sanctioning fee. He feels disrespected by the WBC because they gave him 15 days to make a decision and wouldn't give him an extension. They really gave him 7 months to make a decision. From October when he fought Cotto and they gave him an extension to fight Khan in May.

Like rrayvez was saying in the other thread while everyone else was cheering on Canelo because they thought he was taking a stance against more belts and more sanctioning fee he was really taking a stance against the WBC for forcing him to fight his mandatory, GGG.

Yes that wbc piñata belt is a joke but I'm confused as to why Canelo has hard feelings towards the wbc. His first world title was a gift from them to allow him to become youngest 154 pound champion ever by allowing him to face an unranked welterweight. Now all of a sudden because they wanted him to face ggg, something he knew would happen the sec he agreed to fight cotto, he wants to be petty?

but instead him and Oscar were upset at cotto for not paying the sanctioning fees and said it was an insult to boxing. Interesting how their minds have changed.
