Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr: I'm Close to Weight Already; Still Could Make 160

Chavez Jr might do an Andy Lee on Canelo. Did y'all forget what Chavez Jr used to do at 160? At 154 & 155 Canelo was never a devastating puncher. He had pop but not the type of pop that would make you think he'd be KO"ing bigger guys. If Chavez Jr can use his weight to tire Canelo it might be lights out for Canelo.

I'm not surprised at all because he's been so undisciplined that there was no telling what he was capable of. I'm rooting for him and if he isn't depleted on fight night, he can win. He can make it difficult for Canelo given his height and reach advantage but if he fights Canelo's fight (up close), I think Canelo will break down that body.

He can also use his superior size on Canelo??? Punch him, then grab him, flop all his weight down, wait until ref. breaks it up, rinse and repeat... By the time he starts getting warned or penalized the damage is done. Try boxing with a 180lb flak jacket on??? Which is what Chavez is going to weigh around.
