  • Comments Thread For: Parker's Coach: Joshua is Quite One-Dimensional, Very Robotic!

Kevin Barry, trainer of WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker, saw a lot of flaws in IBF, WBA, IBO champion Anthony Joshua (19-0, 19 KOs). On Saturday night, Joshua secured a career defining win by stopping former division ruler Wladimir Klitschko in an epic fight in front of 90,000 people at Wembley. Having never been beyond the seventh round, Joshua was able to stop Klitschko in the eleventh.

He is, but Parker is not that good and won't be able to do a thing about it.

Agree with him AJ was made to look a fool by wlad and wlad was made to look a fool by fury in any other era AJ would still be boxing with a head guard tbh

You can rip Parker and call him crap but his coach is 100% correct. Got obvious flaws

If you could mix Fury's size and movement with Ortiz' punch selection and inside fighting with Wilder's power and athleticism then AJ would surely lose to that fighter?

Sure he would. But where is he?

Barry has no idea what hes talking about ...limited punch selection?

Parker fights in slow plodding short burts walking forward in a straight line flat footed usually having to triple his jab up to get proper range and thats his pattern...if thats not robotic i dont know what is ?lol

Stop blathering rubbish - and think! In the nineties Bruno was a world champion. Isn't that another era?

Who wins a mythical match-up between Bruno and Joshua?

Joe Bugner was a tough out for Ali - so don't tell me that Joshua wouldn't at least be competitive with second-era Ali even if he'd probably lose.

Era 1 Foremen was sometimes called robotic, Ali made fun of him in that way. Would love to see Foreman vs Joshua - that would be an impressive fight

This robotic stuff is a bit of a myth. He is huge, many heavyweights are not exactly Mayweather in smoothness. The one thing Joshua does that I thought would help him win even before the fight and that he does better than most heavyweights is he throws combinations. Almost no heavyweight throws combinations anymore. He does.
