Granted the USA is the most powerful and successful country on earth but if we continue to let refugees and illegals into the USA then we will become a 3rd world failure destined for failure. But having a nice heavyweight champ would be great. Peace through strength is the mantra for the USA.

Just 25 years ago you had great champions but there is an undercurrent or section that still looks for the great white hope.Granted the USA is the most powerful and successful country on earth but if we continue to let refugees and illegals into the USA then we will become a 3rd world failure destined for failure. Some posters on this forum project that they think that any white poster who follows Kovalev or Golovkin is a racist. Which is ****** and wacky. On the other hand they are right by argument but wrong by degree - as there really are a few posters who support those fighters just for that reason!
And then again you have posters like 1-Hour-Run who are over the top patriots.
You can't reconcile all of that and the trend is that the USA and its citizens are every year more divided rather than less.
You have a nice HW champ in Wilder. He is charismatic and explosive. Expecting all Americans to get behind him though is unrealistic.Comment

America loves heroes and champion but boxing is like the 9th ranked sport in America and most could careless about boxing. Wilder is an unknown in the USA. What the USA needs is a charismatic clean cut articulate white heavyweight champion but that is a dream and far off. Boxing in the USA draws the kids from the ******s and the jails from broken families and with troubled pasts. Has anyone got a GIF of Wladmir's fist landing on Joshua's face in the 6th round? I need to archive that **** man.Comment

Joshua showed great hip and head movement, and timing to dodge Klitschko's left hook and feint jab/left hook as many times as he did while he was hurt. He also smartly stayed on Klit's left shoulder to prevent Klit from launching the right hand, which caused Klit to keep launching the left hook that Joshua kept slipping.Yup.
As great as a champion Wlad was, he's always been a bit of a b1tch deep down and it truly showed in this fight. Any other top guy would have gone in for the kill had they had Joshua basically out on his feet like he was but Wlad didn't have the courage to risk going all out and stopping him.
I don't get where this praise for Joshua ''showing smarts and composure'' whilst hurt is coming from. He was basically out on his feet. Klitchsko LET HIM OFF the hook, by playing it too safe. If he had the balls to put it all on the line like a Wilder, a Ortiz or most other top guys he WOULD HAVE been stopped.
Massive credit to Joshua though for stepping up and taking such a risky fight in only his 19th pro bout. These are the risks you take to achieve greatness. He came so close to failing but he overcame adversity and pulled it off. Even if he did get stopped in the 6th he'd still be as great as he is now in my eyes. TAKING RISKS should be applauded. He took a risk and thankfully it paid off for him. Now it's time for that other fake paper champ Wilder to follow suit and TAKE A RISK for the first time in his padded career.
Stop hating, Joshua deserves praise for his veteran tactics.
Dropping his mouth guard was a dirty trick, but he knew you aint gonna get ducked a point for dropping it once as the ref can't prove if it was intentional or not if you do it only once. That bought him some time to recover.
Joshua also used good feints to keep Wlad worried about retaliation, because even as he was going for the kill Joshua would feint him from time to time and throw the occassional stiff jab to keep Wlad honest.
Wlad was outsmarted and intimidated. Joshua's only mistake IMO wasting too much energy celebrating too early and not jumping on Klit earlier. I felt he could have KO'd Klit in 3 if he'd jumped on him earlier. He didn't have to wait that long.Comment

Nothing has changed in America as the people who matter still have their values and code of ethics. As for the others they simply do not matter.Comment

Yea, I thought it was over as soon as he went down. I figured he would getup but he was in bad shape, I think its a plus for AJ that he got through it and a negative on Wlad for letting him recover.
That was as good a right hand as you will see though, beautiful punch. I see a lot of people chirping about AJ's chin. That right hand would have sparked 90% of the HWs in the world. It was a peach.Comment
