Comments Thread For: Eddie Hearn Didn't Think Joshua Would Get Up in the 6th Round

Eddie Hearn was honest. Anthony Joshua's promoter didn't think the huge heavyweight would get off the canvas in the sixth round against Wladimir Klitschko on Saturday at Wembley Stadium in London. Hearn noticed that Joshua was extremely tired during the fifth round, in which he dropped Klitschko 27 seconds into it, yet didn't finish off the former heavyweight champion.

His biggest weakness is composure at this point in his career. We saw this issue in the Whyte fight as well.

If he keeps his head on straight he won't lose. When he jumped in the corner after the first knockdown, I was screaming "Stay calm. He's getting up" lol

He damn near got KO'd losing his head.

Thanks for putting on a good show. The Heavy Weight Division is back on the map. AJ showed what he was made of.

Great Champions always get back up and fight back harder

Joshua will be a great champion for all of Boxing. Why can't the USA have a champion like Joshua someone we could all get behind and root for? The UK is lucky to have Joshua.

Just needs to keep his head.

He's got over excited a couple of times (in his biggest fight and most personal fight) and got clipped while going for the kill. That's a very easy thing to fix in the grand scheme of things, he's in a great position.

Also showed a good chin, a ton of heart and a lot of composure and smarts while on unsteady legs. Those are things that can't really be taught.

because there is nothing United either about the States or the people who live in them - until an outside threat is perceived. Why do you thing the USA is the biggest war machine on earth? It would implode if at 'peace' long enough.

If Klitschko applied more pressure after that (or even in rounds 7 or 8) he would've stopped Joshua. He played it too safe

                    Yup.

As great as a champion Wlad was, he's always been a bit of a b1tch deep down and it truly showed in this fight. Any other top guy would have gone in for the kill had they had Joshua basically out on his feet like he was but Wlad didn't have the courage to risk going all out and stopping him.

I don't get where this praise for Joshua ''showing smarts and composure'' whilst hurt is coming from. He was basically out on his feet. Klitchsko LET HIM OFF the hook, by playing it too safe. If he had the balls to put it all on the line like a Wilder, a Ortiz or most other top guys he WOULD HAVE been stopped.

Massive credit to Joshua though for stepping up and taking such a risky fight in only his 19th pro bout. These are the risks you take to achieve greatness. He came so close to failing but he overcame adversity and pulled it off. Even if he did get stopped in the 6th he'd still be as great as he is now in my eyes. TAKING RISKS should be applauded. He took a risk and thankfully it paid off for him. Now it's time for that other fake paper champ Wilder to follow suit and TAKE A RISK for the first time in his padded career.
