Someone on my block that claims that they know him told me he was closer to 48. He said that his uncle went to school with Ortiz on the island.
So he waited until he was 41 years old to go pro?

And was actually in his mid to late 30s in the amateurs when video shows him as a young babyfaced fighter appearing to be in his mid 20s?

I've got to says, Ortiz is currently the best counterpunching heavyweight I've seen since James Toney.

The PED version from a couple of years ago that was tearing through Jennings, Thompson etc looked very, very good. Not unbeatable though. There’s an obvious argument that someone like Fury could outpoint him due to length/reach, lateral movement etc. And we’ve not seen him in there with an explosive puncher like Wilder either yet, however this current version doesn’t look anywhere near as good. I’ve always said Ortiz is by far the most skilled HW from a technical standpoint but whether he’s the best is another matter.
I guess we’ll get some answers to these questions next Saturday. Can’t wait for this fight!

It's time tonight to see if King Kong is UNBEATABLE?
