Comments Thread For: Joshua Doesn't Think He'll Make More Money Than Mayweather

It took Floyd Mayweather Jr. until his 38th fight to earn an eight-figure purse. Once Mayweather made his first $10 million guarantee for facing Oscar De La Hoya in May 2007, he used it as a springboard to sustain superstardom and estimated career earnings of nearly $750 million. Anthony Joshua will earn his first eight-figure purse ($12.5 million) for just his 19th professional fight a heavyweight title defense against Wladimir Klitschko on Saturday in London.

why not you in the heavyweight division in a country where they are boxing crazy and support their boxers, should be no reason you cant parlay taht into great deals for you if you can keep getting the W's. If Mayweather would have had an offical 0 on his record better believe he wouldnt even have made half the money. If you guys are smart hearn will work with haymon to keep wilder undeafeted for the next few years and build that fight as big asp ossible

JOSHUA NEEDS TO START HIS OWN PROMOTIONAL COMPANY.... HE NEEDS TO STOP LETTING EDDIE HEARN KEEP MAJORITY OF THE PROFITS FROM HIS EVENTS.... EDDIE HEARN SHOULD ONLY BE GETTING A PERCENTAGE TO PROMOTE.....

he should become his own promoter and just use eddie as a manager or something... Pay him a percentage to promote the fights like floyd paid golden boy.... There is no way eddie hearn should be keeping the majority of the profits while joshua only gets $12 million....

I think Hearn gets 10%, Sky gets 50%, and Joshua gets 40%, the other fighters percentage and the undercard is down to Joshua. Think that's how it works out.

$12.5 million is his guaranteed purse

The knockout artist from suburban London should earn more from his fight against Ukraine’s Klitschko (64-4, 53 KOs) than his $12.5 million guarantee once pay-per-view revenue and other income from the event is totaled.
