Lennox was lucky enough to have a few great heavyweights in his era. Holyfield, Tyson (a faded version) and Vitali which helped him on the road to greatness.

Josh is lucky in the sense that there are several heavyweights at the moment that can similarly help define his greatness.

I think it's too early to tell if he will reach the level of Lennox but if he becomes unified world champion in his 19th pro fight and then goes on to beat wilder, fury etc he will be well on his way.

I wonder if AJ is going to use the Lewis model of defense: jump back, eyes wide, arms out stretched lol

AJ is already looking a more brutal fighter than Lewis and has more of a fighters mentality. All that's left is to prove it in the ring.

He was an Emanuel Steward boxer. Emanuel always preached how important the amateur background was. He really latched onto its importance. Time will tell, I guess.

Lennox was one of the greatest of all time. Dare I say he would have beaten Ali, just too powerful for him, but then again Ali outsmarted Foreman. Only things against Lewis are that his chin was not that strong, and he struggled against Mercer and against Holyfield in the rematch. He's far better than the robotic Klitschkos, and beat Vitali even though he wasn't in top shape. Can't forget that hellacious uppercut.

The main reason might not get as great as Lennox is cois Lennox is top ten or even top 5 material.

Josh can beat wilder, fury, wlad, hate and then he is well on his way. And to think of all the challengers in next ten years josh can beat.
Josh might well have cv to challenge Lennox.

If you compare Lewis's earlier fights against Mason, McCrory, Biggs, etc., to Joshua's fights to date, you can clearly see that even though he was somewhat unpolished and wild back then he was still a more complete, natural boxer than AJ

It's very likely true, but let it play out and show itself.
A guy who got put to sleep twice by journeymen is the best hw of all time? Methinks not.

Let's stop the nonsense everyone with Lennox being the best ever. Good yes, top ten yes. Best, nope. And I dare say if he wasn't a 6'4 250lb guy and was like Holyfield size he would have been mediocre at best.
