Knew this thread was going to be about Floyd before I clicked on it.
Wlad has been fighting pro since 96 and is worth $60 million?

Those websites are just clickbait with no basis in reality. Some dude looks up a few of Wlad's biggest fight purses adds them together and that's the number they get.
Wlad has probably made more from K2 Promotions than from his own fights and he's made a lot more than 60 million from his own fights.Comment

Oh wow. Okay. I assumed the Joshua fight wrapped up his career. When will he ever get close to that kind of money again?Comment

That is why Martin was so quick to sign. He got to fight on a British PPV as the IBF champion. Joshua is the cash cow. Wilder never made that in all his title defences combined but he did get 7 million with the Povetkin lawsuit...Comment

Sh^t its crazy to think Klitschko made $60M in his career when his best, most entertaining fights were the ones he got KTFO in usually. Being a HW pays doe, boring or nah.
Boxing is kinda crazy in general I think when it comes to the dynamics of generating revenue/getting paid. You can be a lesser caliber guy, but if you are entertaining, in or out of the ring sometimes, you can get paid more than better fighters. Its kinda like a cross between being an athlete & a entertainer (actor, comedian, singer, etc) instead of just being an athlete & earning more money based on being a superior athlete. Not that any of these guys didn't deserve the money they got, but just saying there is more going on then just being a good to great boxer in getting paid.Comment

It's funny to see some of the comments on here.. but celebrity net worth is a primitive site which only works off of the available info on the internet(fighter purses)..
Tv deals, sponsors, K2 and KMG are not even accounted for because none of the business/margins are disclosed.. For Joshua fight Wlad stands to made 15mil pounds, he made almost the same for Poverkin, Haye and Fury.. They have invested in hotels but again under the radar..
This site details what I was talking about:
But again he is no where close to what Floyd is worth...Comment

Andrew Golota is a perfect example. That is why he got 3 title fights in a row against Byrd, Ruiz & Brewster. They were all in Don King's stable. I remember before the Golota/Byrd fight Chris was upset that he was the champion & was only making $500000 while the challenger Golota was getting 4 million. Don King replied with " how many of those 15000 Poles are here to see you?"Sh^t its crazy to think Klitschko made $60M in his career when his best, most entertaining fights were the ones he got KTFO in usually. Sh^t bro $5M is a big pay day too lol. Not a whole lot of cats in boxing have made $5M for 36 minutes. The figure makes sense, and $60M is a lot of money to have at 41 years old. Not to mention he strikes as someone who invests and is good with his money and he could be worth more.
He only really got two big pay days in his career. Against Haye, which he reportedly got $10M and against Povetkin, which he reportedly got $17M. He's about to get another $10M + against Joshua.
He made $5M per fight for his other fights in Germany. Where apparently he had a really good TV deal.
He's always been known as the 3rd biggest draw behind Pacquiao and Floyd and those guys got like $20-30M per fight. So the figure definitely makes sense.
We've sorta been fooled into thinking $1M+ or even $200k+ per fight isn't huge f#cking money for a boxer to make with all these crazy Floyd & Manny + other big draw/popular guys pay days we hear about.
~95%+ of boxers are making peanuts that don't even allow for them to even just box to pay the bills often times I'd speculate. And its probably ~1%ish that actually can be set for life post-boxing with the amount they make (not counting them f#cking it up somehow as people who aren't used to sudden wealth/money tend to do at a higher clip then normal) after training/team expenses, taxes & regular living expenses.Comment

Even as a Byrd fan LOL at that.Andrew Golota is a perfect example. That is why he got 3 title fights in a row against Byrd, Ruiz & Brewster. They were all in Don King's stable. But yea you are correct there are more dynamics in combat sports with revenue/pay days than say pro football, pro basketball & other more mainstream pro sports.
It'd probably be better for the sport if that wasn't the case, but you'd also have to load up cards, which the current division of the sport between promoters, networks & alphabet groups make difficult, to have it make sense for great boxers with less appealing styles that don't bring in the fans to be paid more then lesser boxers with more fan appeal that do bring in fans. Kinda like how the UFC operates.Comment
