I expected Acne Furry to be in NZ before he confirmed an injury. For that reason alone I'm calling bs.
The dude should have been in the country before the injury announcement yet he was never there and suddenly he has an injury. Are you insinuating the Furry Acne kid has good reason not to travel and hasn't an injury ?
He has the same issues and he's the challenger. Home is the new world.
I didn't expect the WBO to enforce a top 15 opponent in 12 days notice, I don't particularly agree with it but truth be told I'm glad. Is this dude in shape was he training for another fight not just helping Parker prepare ?
Anyway it is what it is, at the dude has been in NZ and is accustomed to the time zone and his body has adjusted.
Came as no surprise Acne Furry wasn't even in the country with less than a fortnight to go, all it did was serve as a confirmation the fight wasn't happening. Fluff fan boys defending this guy have gone eerily silent.
I still like the Furys but they sure have been unreliable the last year or so. Cojanu is actually the WBO #13 after picking up a WBO regional belt beating some Chinese guy. Yung Bum Hole or something like that with a 6-1 record. Cojanu lost to Alvaro Morales for f**k sakes. This is the problem with regional belts automatically giving a guy a top 15 ranking... Duco Events is stretched beyond their means trying to hold events of this magnitude. The fight should have been in England but that's on Warren & Team Fury for not winning the bid...
What do you expect from a hostage situation. They got that title in NZ and they're going to exploit it for all it's worth. We have Joshua in the UK, Parker in NZ, and Wilder in Alabama. All of them love home cooking.

LOL! No sh&t... You would think they would be smart enough to realize that the promoters would want some time to PROMOTE a unification match. It was pretty obvious the choice would be a WBO top 15 guy who has no chance of ever getting a title shot unless it was on 12 days notice as a replacement. That Cojanu will get destroyed in a round. Journeyman Donovan Dennis crushed him in 2...

Yep, we were talking about this possibility a few days ago. It's the easiest and simplest path for Parker, which is usually the route that is taken when you're under the gun for time.
Rather Fury is actually hurt or not I'm assuming Parker & his team can't afford to cancel the event so they are going forward with it so they get paid. You can all but count out Duco events ever getting money from the NZLD gov't now. I know they got denied before but now the nail is in the coffin for that ever happening. I think Duco Events has stretched themselves as far as they can go as promoters. Bob Arum is involved with Duco but I expect sooner or later that arrangement will be finished & Parker will move on. Parker needs to sign with a bigger promoter.

You beat me to it. I believe it was us who discussed it in another thread.

Yeah but Breazeale won't take it on 12 days notice. He wants 8 weeks I read & I also read he wants it in September. Either way he isn't stepping up on short notice...
