My perception is its largely latinos being the "serious" fans of boxing who are accounting for the most PPV's buys & certainly are the highest per capita buyers of PPV. White & black fans who buy PPV's I feel do so more casually & are doing it cuz they just happened to catch an ad on TV or story on a website or in the paper or the one guy they like is fighting or something like that. I've certainly noticed time & time again that the people I most talk boxing about that know boxing are the latino fans. Finding a black or white cat who can talk boxing beyond Floyd, Manny or Canelo is like finding a f#cking flying unicorn. But I'd love to see the actual demographics of the PPV buys to be proved or disproved.
After the Roy, Shane, Bernard, Zab, Winky, and Floyd group, boxers became less prevalent in hip-hop culture. For a lot of young black guys that's what drives their daily conversations.

I remember growing up seeing hip-hop magazine covers and music videos featuring those guys regularly. Floyd and Winky were the least popular of this bunch. Although I was an avid watcher (b/c of family), my friends only knew those mentioned above. These days boxers aren't really mentioned in pop culture w/ the exception of Broner, but he lost a lot of that buzz after Maidana did a number on him. The net went wild clowning with videos and memes after that fight.

It seems like Gervonta Davis is starting to build up a similar following to the one Broner had (based on his recent growth in social media impressions). But the common factor in both of those instances is the presence of Floyd. The young kids know him because of the obsession TMZ and hip-hop have with his lifestyle.

It has a little to do with boxing. There are few to no avid followers of the sport under the age of 30 in black America. (I'm in this age group)

They'd buy fights if they knew who the fighters were. Lots buy UFC fights regularly. (Lots of familiarity due to video games)

Yeah a guy known for crumbling against elite fighters isnt gonna sell a PPV especially with his act getting old and annoying. If he was still undefeated that attitiude may still worked for him and maybe if it was less of a ripoff of Floyd.

        Good points all around.

And yea I've definitely noticed that Tank bump he's been seeing as of late. Should be interesting to see how big he can get. Assuming he can keep his sh^t together cuz he seems like a cat who could easily have a trajectory not unlike Broner if he doesn't stay on point & do things the right way/be mindful of his own narrative & goals before he gets a taste of all the good things ahead of him.

that's funny because when there was talks of manny vs khan, the floyd fans was saying broner was a better choice and that broner will draw more than khan and that pac is ducking broner.

This dude barley got by C+ Granados, but looking at the bums Crawford's been fighting lately, there's a good chance this fight happens.

people on here are ****** enough to buy into the hype so yeah it probably could be a ppv. theyll say broners a great talent but just had attitude problems, paint a picture of him training like a demon in this camp, broner v2.0. then he'll enter the ring and get the crap beaten out of him over 12 rounds by crawford.

Yea Broner could have been that guy if he kept winning.

People were calling him the next Floyd. He had it made.

"Broner said early Sunday morning in Brooklyn that he would welcome a fight against the undefeated Crawford, assuming they can continue winning."...and praying that Broner can stay out of jail & above ground.
