We're not technically out of the Mayweather era, especially as he continues to make headlines of himself by talking up a fight with a mixed martial artist - casuals and media alike haven't had the chance to look to a new American star, Floyd is still keeping himself relevant in that regard. I do think it's becoming a bit of an issue. Floyd needs to retire and actually mean it this time, none of this, "I'm retired, but let me wait for the right offer and start rumors of my own." I think in time there will be an American star, black or otherwise. But I think it's incredibly ignorant to imply black fighters have to be villains. Shakur Stevenson seems like a good kid, honestly and I'd hate to see him follow this perceived formula instead of just being true to himself.

Furthermore, who give a **** where the next superstar is from? I'm more interested in super talents! Guys you watch on tv and don't even think about how he speaks or what he said cause you're more immersed in his ability. Those are the moments that count most.
