Exactly. Spence might end up being great but he isn't yet.
Since Floyd retired...

Floyd could probably come back and beat any current WW now.
I think it's a good competitive division though and wide open for someone to really establish themselves as the best if the right fights get made, which in fairness has been happening with Garcia v Thurman and Brook v Spence.
Manny just beat Bradley & Vargas back to back, if one of the other WW's did that, they would be being hyped. If Manny has anything left, it wouldn't surprise me if he could beat the current crop of WW's too as nobody has proven they're anything special.
Brook v Spence is a good fight though but it depends on how the winner wins. If one of them wins in good style then i think it's putting their marker down on the division. Thurman or Garcia had chance to do that but Thurman just did enough to win.Comment

Thurman, Brook, Porter, Garcia, Spence... There's definitely some interesting fighters at 147. Pac is still just barely around, too.Comment

If you compare everyone to the best fighter of an entire generation and a top 10 ATG of course everyone else looks inferior. What the **** kind of comparison is that?Comment

Ever since he retired all we hear about is him trying to make a fight with McGregor, talk about overrated.I've been saying this for about a year, the welterweight division is actually overrated with the exception of Spence. Think about who's in the division now, Garcia who should be fighting at 140,Broner hopefully he moves down,Porter who can't box,Berto who is past his prime along with Pacquiao, Thurman who basically been fighting once a year and Brook and Spence who should be fighting in a higher weight class, because they see they can dominant the welterweight division is why they fighting in this division, which I can't blame them for doing. But guys this is a overrated division living off of Floyds reputation. The division that should be getting the attention is 154 and 160,hopefully they will get their exposure sooner than later
How is Garcia supposed to be 140? He weighs in on fight night around 157 as a WW.
Meanwhile Floyd was fighting Ortiz, Guerrero, Berto and Maidana at welterweight, all of whom would have been slaughtered by 2017's top welters.Comment

My point is I'm not comparing them to Floyd the point I'm making is the so called names in the division, Thurman Garcia, porter etc, are living off Floyd fighting in the ww division and they don't have the talent to match they're publicity you feel me take Thurman vs Garcia, they fought like they were scared of each(which I don't think they were)but because they are so called at the top of the division fans are acting like these fighters are good, I personally say this crop of fighters in the ww division are (OK)at best.I think when Crawford eventually moves up he will bring some credibility to the division. For example the Porter fight was horrible to watch but this is a fighter who is considered a top welterweight and he simply can't box,but because the division is so overrated he can actually become the top dog in this overrated division just but out wrestling his opponents this is not skillful boxing. Like I said before Spence is the only legit ww in the division but for him to have some real competition he needs to move to 154 for some real challengesComment

How are they living off Floyd's name when he never fought them? He avoided them at all costs. Chose Berto as #49 and McGregor will be 50. Not Thurman, Garcia, Porter, Brook or Spence, but Berto and McGregor. If you want to start another cheer leading thread for Floyd just say so. No need to marginalize the current crop of WWs who he refuses to fight. Not their fault he only fights B-rate opponents and faded elites.Comment

Dude your totally missing my point regardless of how Floyd performed or who he fought he brought a spotlight on the ww division, and therefore these fighters wanna be competing at 147 not 140 or 154. Take for example Broner fighting at 147 and he should be fighting at 135-140 Pacquiao same way,Garcia should be at 140,Porter and Brook and Spence should be at 154 but since Floyd competed at 147 and made a ton of money regardless of who he fought, these fighters think that 147 is the division to compete in and from a monetary perspective it is but from a skill and talent perspective alot of these fighters shouldn'tbe in the welterweight division, now Crawford is a guy who should be competing at 147.Understand this I'm not trying to compare fighters to Floyd I'm just using his retirement as a starting point for when the division became overratedHow are they living off Floyd's name when he never fought them? He avoided them at all costs. Chose Berto as #49 and McGregor will be 50. Not Thurman, Garcia, Porter, Brook or Spence, but Berto and McGregor.
